Good morning, the Worm, your honor!

Greetings TRF,

I just came back from Roger Waters's The Wall live at the Bell Centre in downtown Montreal. This is the second time I've been to this show and believe me, it was as spectacular and as stunning as the first time! The only difference is that since I was pretty much watching the same show twice I took a bit of time to take a couple of pictures (a whole lot, really, I don't believe I've ever posted such an amount of pictures on another thread before) and even some videos for you guys (yes, you can hear me scream so be prepared).

Please accept my apologies for the poor quality of the pictures and the videos, they were taken by my cellphone but I thought it was still better than nothing.

...We came in?

The Bell Centre!

The scene when we walked to our seats...

That plane has quite the role at the end of the first song!

Two soldiers showing us the doll.

...And here it starts!

As I said, the plane had quite a role! Unfortunately I took it at the very moment before he crashed in the wall!

We were being watched the whole show...

You! Yes, you! Staaaaaaaand still laddy!

Here's Waters along with his two guitarists, they were very talented!

And the first video! The kids singing their part (watch out for the sound...)!

They added an acoustic ending to this song, it wasn't in the first show but it sounded very nice!

And then he went on with Mother along with some footage from...

Mother do you think they'll try to break my...?

Did did did did you hear the falling bombs?

What shall we use to fill the empty spaces?

I'm very proud of this picture, it goes quite fast so it's hard to prepare yourself in advance!

I need a dirty woman! (one of the very few images that were SFW...)

...A collect call for Mrs. Floyd from Mr. Floyd.

Are all these your guitars!?

Day after day, love turns grey...

Would you like to learn to fly!? Would you!? Would you like to see me try!?

Ooh Babe! Don't leave me now!

I don't need no arms around me!

And I don't need no drugs to calm me!

I have seen the writings on the wall!

Don't think I need anything at all!

Oh! Don't think I need anything at all!

At this point, the video shows moving images of bricks flying away. With the darkness of the place and the fact that they are precisely placed on the bricks of the actual wall you could swear they were litteraly flying in the air, it was a very impressive effect!

Goodbye, cruel world, I'm leaving you today...

And a little break...not without videos though! Those are pictures and texts sent by relatives of victims of several wars and crimes all around the world.

The middle one on the top row is Waters's father, he passed away in 1944 during World War II.

Hey you, don't tell me there's no hope at all!

And my second video, a very special scene I remembered from the first time. I had to share it with you guys!

Is there anybody out there?

There ain't nobody home...

Remember how she said that we would meet again on a sunny day?

Bring the boys back home!

Hello! Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me...

When I was a child, I had a fever...

Guitar solo on top of the wall, allow me to repeat it: that man was very talented (my only regret is that he didn't improvise enough for me, he played a lot of those solos note by note and as much as I appreciate Gilmour I would have liked him to give us a more personal performance. He was still amazing!)!

That was just beautiful!

Am I too long? Is it too late?

So ya thought ya might like to go to the show...

And the flying pig (really, he was flying in the air with fans underneath it)!

I almost got it!

At this point he was shooting the audience with a little toy machine gun (as per the rules, I shall not post any pictures of that).

Run! Run! Run! Run!

I don't think he has an iPhone...

You cannot reach me now...

No matter how you try...

I want to go home...

Another video, this one is unfortunately on the side and I don't know how to correct this (I'll post it again when I find out).

And my favorite moment! The trial!

The crown will plainly show...

Call the schoolmaster!

Crazy, toys in the attic I am crazy...

There must have taken my marbles away!

You should have talked to me more often than you did but NO!

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABE!

The evidence before the court is...

Since, my friend, you have revealed your deepest fear. I sentence you to be exposed before your peers!

And the very last video. Yes, you can probably hear me scream a couple of times...

...

...

...

...

TEAR DOWN THE WALL!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the videos guys! Now before anybody thinks about something negative let me assure you that we were allowed to take pictures and shoot videos as long as we didn't use any flashes (some people still did but what can you do...). As well, I didn't bother or annoy anybody around me while taking those, I always made sure I did it quickly and without going on top of somebody (the last video is an exception because everybody was going crazy and a lot were already leaving). Needless to say I had a wonderful night with my friend and we did enjoy it as much as we did the first time!

As always, feel free to comment!

...Isn't this where?

Believe me, you missed a hell of a show!

Apparently he's going to Quebec city in a month or so and the show over there is supposed to make the ones I went to miserable! From what I've heard he's going to reproduce something like the show he gave to Berlin in 1990.

Looks like quite the theatrical production, Carl. Although I couldn't see any of the video with you screaming like a giddy 12 year old girl.

Just saying, my friend.

Nice try Craig but my giddy 12 years old girl screams don't stop you from seeing the videos.

Just saying, my friend. Would you be mad because Mr. Waters doesn't like your iPhone?

We'll all have to chip in to get you a better phone if you are gonna take pictures of these concerts for us. Is it a Nokia from the 90's?

DSOT 88 and Division Bell 95, my favorite two shows (never did see them before the split)

The crowd will plainly show, the prisoner who now stands before you, was caught red-handed showing feelings, showing feelings of an almost human nature. This will not do. Call the schoolmaster!

Good stuff Carl, I always find it amazing the dynamic of bands and the almost inevitability of them breaking up. Waters was a major creative force in Pink Floyd, not the only creative force but the major one, at least that's how he put it in the 60 minutes piece.

The rest of the band toured without him for many years and he couldn't sell tickets as a solo act. Obviously that's changed but you think of what a powerhouse they would be if they were all together. I guess one can only swollow so much pride.

Was there enough live "Rock and Roll" or was it too much theatrics and recorded music?

They do...if you have at least 40$!

I've bought a t-shirt and a key chain the first time but decided to only go with the key chain yesterday because the clothes weren't as nice this year. Collecting key chains from shows is another one of my hobbies and whenever there's one for sale I get it!

Give me a sign whenever you are in Montreal! If there's a show in town I'll invite you!

The camera on this one is very bad but I'm not the type of man who will trash his phone when a new one comes out! I'll have to wait for this one to break...and get myself a smaller but very good camera!

Well I must be honest with you (like I wrote in my very long first post) that this was some kind of a downside. Indeed, the show is longer than the album and there are some parts that were added but overall the guitarists were mostly playing the solos note by note. Being a fan of guys like Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, I really enjoy seeing guitar players losing their minds and improvising like they never did before, therefore I always found that this was a bit of a bummer (don't get me wrong, it didn't bother me to the point where I wouldn't enjoy the show, far from that, but despite the fact that everything is timed and synchronized to the second I would have liked those talented men to let themselves go and show us their talent rather than their ability to reproduce what Gilmour played).

In the end, it is more of a big show than a rock and roll concert. The music is somewhat just a backing track to the whole ceremony and you must enjoy everything as a whole thing to fully appreciate it!

I hope you enjoyed it a lot!
