Where do people get their new genuine Rolex parts? Will AD help?

My understanding is that Rolex aggressively controls their parts distribution to restrict the counterfeit market. However, I've seen many people sell new bracelets, links, clasps and bezels, and I'm left wondering where they got these parts. I've heard that if you take your watch to RSC and they replace a part, they'll keep the used original piece so that nobody has spare parts. How do some people get these parts?

Specifically, I'm trying to get a new clasp; I'd like to get a SD 93160 clasp for my Sub-date, but RSC won't help me with this. Does anybody know if an AD will be able to get a new clasp for me? Thanks

Don't know for sure but most likely the sellers either have a Rolex parts account or know someone who does and can acquire the pieces for them

Well you should be able to get parts via any AD world wide but today Rolex USA which is a separate company from Rolex SA Switzerland. Now they are far more dictatorial about getting and supplying parts than say Rolex UK.And they will in general only supply parts that belong to that watch and there is no real benefit fitting a SD clasp on a sub unless you dive and need the extra extension link..

Try ebay; surprisingly good source for Rolex parts.

Not a chance in ____, from an AD....you could try and independent watch tech or TRF...
