Got the call from AD, GMTc engraved, a few quick pics
My son’s new GMTc now engraved by Rolex, a few quick & dirty pics with protective stickers still in place, my son will undress when he visits at the weekend. He’s also bringing my one with him,

Excellent engraving work....
It appears there is a reason to celebrate, and the GMT can witness this occassion through many generations.. Congratulations, and congratulations to your son and fellow traveller.. |

Very cool inscription.
Did you provide a proof for the engraver to work with?

Thanks for your kind comments guys, it was arranged that my son would drop in to RSC with a scan of the design he wanted, when he got there the lady that does the engraving showed him their own variation of the symbol & he went along with that.

I'm thinking of doing something similar to my GMT IIC for my son. Would the vibration from the engraver hurt the movement in any way, or do they remove the caseback to engrave?

They remove the caseback, it was a bit extra for the GMTc as the ceramic bezel also has to be removed prior to the case-back being taken off

As I don't understand the question I don't suppose I am
If it were just letters it would have been £1 a letter, but because it was a emblem together with the malarkey of removing & refit of the ceramic = £70 |

Very nice work, Chris. Is this a follow-up to the thread here a while ago about engraving a caseback, where it turned out that Rolex would do it?

I am curious also
Was this done at a Rolex RSC and if so, which one?
Thanks, Sheldon

That's some nice engraving work, Chris!
By the way, since nobody's put his hand up yet, I'm up for adoption!
