Sub 14060M with Daytona bracelet?

Sure, it may qualify as a Frankenrolex, but I am not too concerned with that. I am just not a fan of the Sub bracelet - the clasp looks a bit too bulky on my slimmer wrist and sits too far off to the side. I read a thread a while back about the BH RSC agreeing to cut a link for someone, but I can't quite bring myself to do such a thing. I could possibly get my hands on a 16710 bracelet or 'vintage' Submariner bracelet off eBay - less bulky clasp wears better and looks nicer on my wrist, but is still a bit off-center (yeah, I'm a bit of a stickler ). Seems that Rolex has wised-up with their late-model GMT and Daytona bracelets, providing one extra removable link on the 6 o'clock side, which would provide for a much better fit and look.

So how difficult would it be to track one down, and how much can I expect it to set me back? I have learned that they can possibly be acquired through ADs overseas (e.g., in the UK), but I don't think that is a feasible option for me right now.

Any suggestions (aside from listing a WTB ad)?

I guess an AD just might be able to get you one in the States, but as with many spare parts it is not the easiest thing in the States.

Price is about 2,000 US $.

I think it will fit the Sub since the SEL has the same curvature on the underside (which the SD hasn't).

Having said that, IMHO it would looks terrible on the Sub, though. Polished centre links just wouldn't look good on it.

I dont know polished mid links might look ok

If the polished center links are a problem, then a ScotchBrite pad is the answer. All it takes is a little work.

Looks like there are lots of choices for you..

You do know that a new Daytona bracled well set you back a couple of grand...

Taking a link out of your bracelet is a pretty simple thing to do and not uncommon...They don't actually "cut" anything, they just pull apart if you have the right tools..

Here is how it looks.



Or you could just change out the clasp..

Where do you get this tool? Also, where would someone get the gold portion of the link for a TT bracelet? (Mine's OK, but my uncle has bent the gold portion of two of his links)

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the tool was cheap, or easy to come by. A well equipped certified Rolex shop will be able to do this, and of course, any RSC. It's not typically a do-it-yourself operation, yet is not difficullt and is common.

As far as replacing only the gold part of a TT link, I have never seen that available by itself but I would imagine the RSC could do it for you..
