Watch out for uk ship to nigeria scammer!!!!

Hi guys,

I know this is quite common, and I have already posted a bit about this (as well as many others) but I want to quickly put a little bit more information out there as to the scammer's style to hopefully help protect anyone else from possibly being duped.

On ebay, my item was purchased via 'buy it now' from a person with paypal and ebay registered in the uk. Here is the email that followed:

"I have made out a quick payment of $2.770,00 to you for this item
number (230828615040).So check your mail for the confirmation
mail from paypal.Get back to me immediately if you receive the
confirmation mail from paypal.I want this item shipped through
US Postal Services Express Mail International(EMS)
to my Daughter in Nigeria as a Birthday Present.Below is
My Daughter's address that you will have to send the item to

ADEBOLA DONALD
11, OLUOSHIFESO STREET,
ONIKE IWAYA.
23401
LAGOS STATE
NIGERIA.
+2348028496949

As soon as you send it,Send the shipping
details to me today so that i can forward it
to her ok.Get back to me asap
Kind Regards,
Imogen.

PS due to how urgent My Daughter needs this, i decided
to pay you $320 for postage for this item ok,so
make sure you post it out today to her then you get back
to me asap.If you are having any problem pls make sure
u keep me posted."

I than received fake emails from 'paypal' telling me that the funds had cleared and that it was safe and clear to ship the item. these emails have been confirmed as fake by both paypal and ebay, however they did certainly look authentic.

As a newbie to ebay, I certainly made some amateur mistakes including not setting my settings to not allow zero feedback members to bid, as well as agreeing to correspond from email outside of the secured messaging. All ignorance on my part.

Needless to say it was obvious to me that it was a scam from start, and immediately forwarded the emails to spoof@paypal and spoof@ebay, as well as canceled the transaction.

the scammers email address is [email protected] , and his ebay user name is the same. He went by the name Imogen Morgan. Sounds like he mixed a nigerian name with a 'english' name haha.

So be on the look out guys! I dont want to see any of my fellow trf members get tricked by these low lives.

Im so thankful trf as it helps keep me sharp and the community seems to really protect eachother.

Stay sharp,

A.

ps. this is one of the fake paypal emails:

$320 for postage because it's "urgent." That was good for a laugh!
