Hands move backwards on my N quickset 1570?
Does anyone know why the hands move backwards on my 1570 date? I am setting the date, if it isn't taking long enough, when it hits midnight, the date flicks over, then how far do you go to get to 6 am? just 6 hours back from the 12 right? then 18 hours later, it should change dates again right? but it goes 21 10 9 8 7 6, not 1 2 3 4 5 6- cause its backwards. thanks

I have NO CLUE what your question is or what you're describing.

I'd say go forward, not backward. go until the date flicks, then that's midnight, then move it forward 18 hours if you want 6pm, or whatever. THEN reset the date. and I'd try breaking your phrases up into sentences. |

Said my cool kiddie Ron, "That makes you a hustler!" Four hours in two weeks?--nuthin'! Anyways, like I always say: can't police no underwear! Alls you can do is give that woodchuck a tuna melt, some romantic shoes, or a metal skull crusher. It's crazy! Time to have another drink. |

Caliber 1570 do not have a quick set feature. Was that an answer to your question? Obviously the hands needs to move forward after the date change to go to 06.00. It is a good rule to always move the hands forward when setting a watch since the date mechanism on some calibers may be damaged moving the hands backwards (to 18.00). The GMT caliber (3085, 3185, 3186, 3187) is one of few calibers where it is possible to move both hands and date backwards. Let me know if this info helps you. Best, A |

Re-reading it again, I think what he's asking is this:
When is it safe to change the date after going past 12 midnight on a quickset watch? If the above question reflects what he is asking, then the answer is this: For any mechanical watches (except Rolex GMT's), a good rule of thumb is to avoid changing the dates between 10pm and 2am. If you are manually setting the date, it's best to go to 6am and manually change the date.
