Back from Hawaii...saw a lot of Rollies
Well, I am rested and tan after the annual 2 week family trip to Wailea where we swim til we drop. I brought my GMT ll and left the SMP Pro. I think that was OK but one day was looking at my watch while coming out of the ocean and the crown was out...not pulled out to the fiorst click thank goodness but just out to the winding mode. (I shall dutifully paragraph for JJ)
No water got in there it seems and the watch runs great so those seals hold even when banged by waves and out to the first notch...you know what I mean, just out to where you can wind it, not to where you can set the time. I saw some gorgeous watches at those illustrious Hawaiian shops....I think that rose gold is beautiful in both the jubilee and oyster bracelets. I also let my wife schedule me spa treatments at the Grand Wailea where we stayed for the last 3 days. It has, as you may know, a spa that is world renowned.... a spa that could turn me into a woman. I was massaged by a girl who looked as well as smelled as good as Catherine Zeta Jones. Then this Hawaiian dude exfoliated my skin after dipping me in honey and rubbing me down with sea salts and orange peel. Then I sat in a spa with people of some significance whom you would all recognize and felt kind of funny wrapped in a white sheet like the ghost of the spa.....I looked like Elephant Man. I had some great conversations though I saw three YM's on guys, a mid size one on a small Asian dude, and two regular sized ones on bigger guys. I saw at least 5 SS Subs, but no TT subs. I saw one SD with a jubilee bracelet on the plane and I thought that strange. I saw numerous DJ's as well. I saw one GMT ll Pepsi. Then I saw the watches in the shops. I am beginning to really like the TT black and gold Sub a lot.......It is a great combination of bling and subtance...... So, I see JJ has made yet another acquisition....did he sell anything??? |

JJ sold both his SD and TT Sub to get the Sea Master so, he now has only his TT Blue dial YM.

Welcome back, Art. Good to "see" you again. So where are the pictures (I don't care about Hawaii, I just want to see the watches ). Post some pics when you get a chance.

Hi Art,
Welcome back. Glad you had such a wonderful time with your girls in Hawaii. Sadly, I had to sell off my TT Blue Sub as well as the SD in order to acquire this beauty pictured below. I'm now down to just 2 watches - the TT YM and the Omega PO. I'm happy for now, but who knows what 2007 brings?? It's nice to have you back, Art. Cheers - JJ |

LOL!! Most everyone and only missed by one letter, wahine, I am very impressed Earl!! I actually minored in Hawaiian studies so I used to speak the language real well.
It's funny I don't get much practice in Dallas although my son is learning. |

Yeah...not the place to buy but great to look
Being from Oregon where there is no sales tax, I rarely buy anything in other states other than suits, and I will have them shipped home after alterations and there is no tax. But in Hawaii there are a number of beautiful ROlex jewelry shops that cater to people who have so much money to throw around that they would not care less if they pay more or less. In some ways it is a little like people who go to Vegas and shop at the jewelry stores on the strip. There was an Asian guy in one shop buying 3 or 4 Rollies...and nice ones at that.
But I was leid several times, and let me tell you, that Grand Wailea Spa place used to be the domain of my wife. I am just going to have to keep on getting good cases to finance a habit of that dimension. That kind of spa addiction could make my little old Rolex problem lool like a piker...... But I never ask what my wife does there ,nor do I ever want to see the bill....it is her thing. Massages, facials, nails, toenails, skin exfoliation, baths and minerals and wraps....you name it they do it...with honey, salt, orange peels, lemon water, wine, chocolate, mud and all kinds of oils...... |
