Nice shots so far.

I love long haul flying and have an extensive archive from various trips, though I was never into plane spotting, etc. As a result, not that many of my shots cover aircraft from the outside.

Planes in the U.S. are like buses, you get in, after an hour or two you get out (unless you're flying coast to coast or something like that). Service level is quite low (and that's a pity), at least compared to that of selected carriers from Europe and, especially, Asia.

The 747's are terrific birds to fly, and I'm sure few pilots who may be members here can confirm that. However, the high fuel costs during the last 2-3 years have made it almost uneconomical for these lovely birds to fly. As a result, many airlines who used to have them in their fleets have now replaced them with Airbus or Boeing more fuel efficient aircraft.

I trained at the MARC school on the airport grounds.

I'm a plane lover as well. I miss the days of the tri jets, and concord, but now we have A 340s and 380s. Bring on the photos!

I actually don't think I have seen an A340 in person. I'd probably be very confused as to why the 747 lost its top deck. Then I looked on Wikipedia to see who operates them, and turns out I haven't seen them because only a few airlines fly them, and only a few of them serve the areas I visit.

The A380 on the other hand, I have seen and flown...what a whale of a plane.

Concord was sadly before my time, although I did love looking at the pictures of them as a child...and still love shots of airplanes today! (Although flying has become a bit more of a chore than when I was a kid and would eagerly look out the window...now I know the aisle seats are the best ones.)

And great shots, OP!

I flew on an A380 from Paris to Dulles. Massive plane - seems to defy logic to even fly.
