Rolex books
I'm interested to see which books for vintage Rolex enthusiasts are worth buying. I've looked at few, and they really only seem to be coffee table books. Which are the most informative? Thanks guys!

I was thinking about the Vintage Rolex Sports Watch book, but I heard that the pictures were more drawings than photos. Is that correct?

It is not enough to read just one. |

So much more information on the internet now...love books but...all seem to pale in comparison to just a few websites IMHO.

This is a great question, thanks!. I've been thinking about this recently and was just about to buy that $800 book...Not. Seriously though, $800 for a book?

Not at all! They do have some sketches of side views but many, many photos. I do think that there has been some computer enhancement to the photos as many bracelets look identical, etc. but visually great. J

Agreed! The pictures seemed very unreal to me as well.

I've seen a few of these but they're hideously expensive. The Internet is cheaper.

I have the best of time - and I ordered two others and am waiting to receive them. I'm hoping that if I buy enough books I will have at least one version of every style vintage watch made my Rolex. I love looking at the pictures and imaging the lives attached to the old watches. I think that would make a great movie, or short story.

You guys talked me into it!
It's worth keeping an eye on the Amazon used book section. This one popped up for 35 bucks! The money I saved on this book can go towards a 1680 when I find one |

This is a definite read...
Also the Antiquorum Revolution catalogue and Mondani sale catalogues are a must. Christies also had Rolex themed sales in the late 90s and early 2000s. I have them all and they are a great reference! Ross :)

I received The Best Of Time today in the mail, I got it as a gift from Michelle (Kinnakeet), a great member of our community. The book is just wonderful and gives a lot of information!

James Dowlings "Best of Time...", "Vintage Rolex Sports Models" and "Rolex Submariner Story" are a must IMO.

That Mondani Submariner book is $850! WTF? Unless it comes with a a couple of Seikos or a Movado, that's insane.
