I suspect not many read these but it's a chance to pad the number of posts.
I have now purchased four Rolexes, three for myself and one for Mrs. F.
Few things in life provide the sweaty palmed, guilty thrill of plunking down a small fortune for a watch, even if you are getting a good deal. Today I traded my first Rolex for a new one, (no date 14060m COCS, new with tags form an AD), great discount but enough cost to send me to marriage counseling-or worse- if someone finds out. This is a confessional, of sorts.

Congrats on the new Submariner.
You must have got one of the last ones for sale.
The random serial 14060M was the only 14060M model to be made with a Parachrom hair spring. That may not mean much or make much difference, but I do believe that it will make that particular model more collectable.

I am learning the argo and the hair spring is something I am not familiar with.
This was the last 'no date' in the jeweler's inventory and he advised about the 114060 coming out next year at a greater price. He had the date model as well but besides the price, I like the simplicity and the throwback look of the no-date. If it's more collectable, so much the better! After all, I traded one to get this and was glad it had held as much of its value as it did.
If anyone wants to know the dealer, PM or email me and I will supply. I have always gotten better than average discounts and this deal was generous for discount, trade allowance and payments (two payments, plus the trade and I walked with the new watch).

You may or may not be a doctor, but I hope I will follow your advice.

For whatever it may be worth, mine is a random serial number and the AD says it likely has the parachrom spring. I will sleep soundly, regardless, but I suppose that is nice, and probably a factoid for another forum.

Thank you! I am a cynical optimist: my bad decisions eventually make good stories. My good decisions have been to buy Rolex watches.

Welcome to TRF!

And this was a welcome - not a post padder.
