RIP Porter Wagoner Star Of The Grand Ole Opry
Sad to hear tonight that Porter Wagoner has died. He has been fighting lung cancer. A great talent and showman. I always enjoyed seeing him at the Grand Ole Opry. He was a member for 50 years. His latest CD Wagonmaster came out this June and I think it is his finest. RIP Porter.

Most hardcore country music fans will know this, but the average person might not (and maybe not care). Dolly Parton's famous song " I will always love you" was written about her experiences working with Porter. I think she wrote it as she was leaving the show they did together.
