Slightly off subject my friend was a consultant in the kernel development of the ANPR (Number plate recognition) used in the UK.

The project was taken away from his small Company and given to a larger Corporation where they languished for three years attempting to improve on their technology, but to no avail.

They ended up having to purchase the source code from the small Company.

I got ya beat.
Had a pemit for a motorcycle. The restrictons were no riding on the freeway, no riding after dark , and no passenger. I was riding on the freeway, speeding and it was after dark.

My fine was $401.00.

I went to court. They sked me how I pled. I said "guilty your honor, you got me.... He didn't know what to do.. Everyone else before me was feeding him B.S. It was my first "major" offence. The judge asked me if I wanted traffic school and I said yes. My fine was reduced to trafic school and $100.00!!!!!

I got clocked at 211.6 mph in a 65 mph on my modified Hayabusa.

Interstate 30, between TX and AK.
I actually stopped, because I have always been a firm believer that I can not outrun the radio.

Oddly enough, after being yelled at for a good while, the State Trooper let me go.

No fine.
He said that his older radar detector/Laser detector only reads up to 199 then it goes back to Zero.

So his readout actually showed 12.6 mph LOL!!!

He told me to get lost and slow down. Which I did.

To combat an upswing in street racing and the accompanying deaths, Ontario has just enacted new legislation. At 50 km/hr over the limit, you're racing. The tow truck's there in about 10 minutes, and both your car and license are gone for 7 days. No discussion, no gray area, no right of appeal. Then there's the court appearance.

Our speeding tickets depends on how much money you make, and there is no roof for that penalty.
I guess this 245000$ is still a world record.
It's no suprise why Kimi has moved to Switzerland.
