Day Date Havana Colored Dial

My WG Day Date has had an Ice Blue Roman Numeral Dial on it for the past several years. The watch originally came with a Havana Dial, but I changed it out as soon as I purchased the watch with the Ice Blue Dial. The Ice Blue Dial is by far my favorite dial on the WG Day Date, but I thought I give the watch a different look. I have been a member here on TRF since 2008 and I can't remember ever coming across a WG Day Date with a Havana Dial. With the Havana Dial it looks like a completely different watch.

Looks great!....I'm curious, though....is the Havana Roman slightly more bronze than the new "Chocolate Roman," or did Rolex simply rename the same dial? They look awfully close in hue.

Looks yummy. Looking forward to see this dial or the chocklate one on the DJ36 in Bezel 2013

It is starting to grow on me. I haven't had a chance to compare the Havana Dial next to a Chocolate Dial in person, so it is hard to say if Rolex just renamed the Havana Dial a Chocolate Dial. As I mentioned before, I have not seen another WG Day Date with the Havana dial on this forum over the past several years. It must not have been very popular back when ADs were selling P Serial number Day Dates, but it does look like the Chocolate Dial Rolex watches are becoming increasing popular.

When you get a chance, it would be extremely interesting to post some side-by-side pics at an AD with your Havana Roman next to a Chocolate Roman. It may make us all go running out looking for vintage Havana if yours is slightly more bronze, which I think it is, than the current brown offering. I have seen a few-years old Havana dial on a ladies 26mm SS DJ on an Oyster and the dial "exploded" with color against the plain silver/white background of the case and bracelet. Yours, of course, is just stunning. In the recent rise in popularity of the glacier dial, yours stands out as very unique, I'd keep it changed back for a good while. Kudos, man.

I just checked the dial catalogue and in the DD2 it's called chocklate roman. Though its still called bronze on other models such as the 31 DJ

Sweet like caramel. But I'm a little curious on why you didn't just buy the ice blue dial to begin with.
