Changing my Daytona dial by myself (part I)
After posting several threads ( 1.my 116520 daytona 4711154, 2.116208 & 116520, my rolex quartz now ), ... I suddenly become busy in addition to my ordinary government works -answering emails all over the glo.....I know now why spacedweller bo is so busy all the time.......
one interesting question is that shall a collector need necessary some basic watch repairing skills to fullfil his needs ? for myself the answer is definitely yes. While waiting for the RSC to answer my interesting daytona 116520 ( as bo said ) yesterday I suddenly thought i would change the dial ( very simple job ) this morning..... the pics are self explanatary if sth i was missing, pls guide..... many thanks change the PN 116528 to mark its uniqueness... thanks walter |

Why are you wearing two watches at once? It just looks wrong. And is it the light playing tricks or has the gold wore away on the bezel of the daytona on the left? It certainly looks like some silver showing through.

Not risky if you ve been collecting rolexes many yrs & as maniac as me. I guess the vintage sports rolex collectors always have their 6263/6265 Paul Newman or 1655 Steve Mcqueen done & many many DRSD to rise the price up.
For me. it's only a kind of studying.....as i said in my previous texts...go & see sorry to ve the inferior pics, this one better but can't shown the time & dial.. thanks walter |

Hello,
Do you used gloves? Did you checked for waterproof? Did the watch feel happy with the new dial? Does he say anything or have any kind of pain? |

Thank you bo !!!!!!! 2 parts will be enough unless i go crazy to take out the clutch system of the Rolex famous inhouse ( they said ) Cal.4130....that i already dismantled/disassembly that down to the tiny screws when i rec'd my 116520 as its first launched but i could not make them completely as it were ........finally go to the HK RSC & wait for about 40 days to finished that coz they told me one of the 30 min registered pin too stiff to pull & broken by the servicer inside rolex.....
what a service !!! ( or it is too new to the watchmaker....) walter |

Hi Walter,
I saw your post on changing the watchface on your Daytona. If I can ask, what tools did you use to remove the caseback. I am torn between purchasing a Bergeon butterfly wrench, or the actual "steering wheel" type of remover. Also, how did you reinstall the caseback (silicon grease?) Any insights appreciated, thanks, Sheldon Sorry for the late reply Sheldon, coz I went to China, see the thread " safe in wearing my Sub in China ' & had fun & now back to work... Don't try Sports Rolex if you don't have the experience of opening them- they are too tight to try. Any kind of tool can do. No need to stick on a single brand. For pro. they will do to improve the water resistance but it is only when you will not open them occasionally like me. Thanks, Mr. Kaneko. already done & pls see yr emails. Thanks, joker S....... For those who are in the very first level of collecting Rolex might be very surpise by my act. It is very common that 'talk' are so easy or just find links of related subjects for you to search... They are not my contemplation. thanks walter I can just 'talk' or say something that the Rolexforums members posted. or just He He HA HA.... What a I am sorry , not in my |
