Collector's Time - reviews/opinions please?
Hi all,
Newbie here, could use some help! I want to get the other half a watch... I've found one that looks like it ticks all the checkboxes online. But I'm nervous about shopping online for something I don't know anything about! Was wondering if anyone has any reviews on this vendor (for buying a Cellini Danaos and shipping it to the US specifically)? I looked on the TRF FSOT section but there's nothing that's a great fit at the moment. I've seen a couple of reviews but nothing detailed. I've sent an inquiry to ask for a copy of the paperwork that the website says will be provided, and to ask for more details regarding the condition. Can anyone tell me what I should ask for specifically, if anything? Any tips on how to safeguard myself? I plan to take it to an AD within the return period. Here's the link: http://www.collectorstime.com/produc...-xl-black-mint THANK YOU! |

Well that was quick. TRFers would already know this but for any other newbies who stumble onto this thread - shipping Rolexes into the US is apparently illegal!
Since I'm not willing to pay MSRP for this particular line... plan B. |

There may be nothing posted, but if you comntact the trusted sellers here, (bodybump, Jacek, DavidSW, Greekbum, and more) I'll bet one of them could hunt up what you want.

Collectors Time
I have dealt with Zeetan for over 7 years and he is a great guy and a man of his word. I sold a Blancpain through him last year and I sent it blind, and a week later I had the wire in my account. This was my third transaction with him, so no worries, if you decide to do business with him.

A quick update, sorry for the late reply all -
I wound up getting a 4243 (in the right colours!!) through a local AD. I know that's just like driving a brand new car off the lot but it did solve a few headaches - not worrying about knowing absolutely nothing about watches, authenticating (though I doubt that's an issue with the TRF trusted sellers you listed Andelain!)/shipping/appraising, and the biggest one - waiting for one with the right colours to crop up on the secondary market... all in all I think the other half will be very happy, and I think I should stick to buying what I know ;-) Thanks again though! Duffs - yeah, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm in the US and the hubby wanted a Rolex specifically. I'll definitely keep them in mind for other brands though, thanks for the input! |
