Trading 14060M for 116610
I've decided that I'd like to trade my Z-serial 14060M (non COSC) for a gently used 116610. As much as I'd like to have both watches I've come to the conclusion that I'm a one Rolex guy. I bought my SubND new so this was a tough decision since there is some sentimental value to the watch. Essentially having a date and the updated bracelet and ceramic bezel of the 116610 won out as the one Rolex to own (I also have a Speedy so I will still have some choices!).
Given the great feedback on some of the sellers on TRF (DavidSW, Oscar, Tony G, etc.) I've decided that is the route to go in procuring a gently used 116610. My question is - what is the process for trading in a watch to acquire another through a TRF seller, and how safe if the process? I'm assuming that I'll have to pay some cash in addition to my trade of the 14060 but how does it normally work? I'm a bit leery of putting a watch in the mail, although it's been done quite a bit here at TRF. Any insights that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Just trying to pacify my concerns of what I consider a big trade (although very small compared to some of the watches bought and sold on TRF!) Thanks for your help! |

Hi Zook5,
Good afternoon. All the seller you have mentioned have outstanding credentials (DavidSW,Oscar,TonyG, and OCrolxeguy). I have made sevral transactions with DavidSW and he will guide you through the process. Everyone here should understand your concerns as a first time buyer here on TRF. Once you have come to agreement on trade value plus monies owed for the new purchase you will then be given instructions from the seller regarding the shipping process. Again, in my personal experience I have dealt with DSW and OCrolexguy and have had complete piece of mind/trust. You will not go wrong with any of the above seller mentioned. Good luck and be blessed! |

Many of us have been exactly where you are in dealing with a trade online for the first time, but as Zman15 mentioned, the sellers you mentioned in your post are TOP NOTCH...100% honest and trustworthy!
Make sure you post pictures of your SubC when you get it! |

Sorry to hear that you need to let the Sub go. Hope the sentimentality of the watch doesn't bite you later. At the end, I consider this a trade-up for sure. You'll love the SubC.
Good luck! The guys you mentioned are great to deal with. |

I own both the 116610 and the 14060m and as much as I love my 116610 and all the upgrades it brings if I had to keep only one the simplicity and comfort of the 14060 would probably win out. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I spoke with DavidSW this evening and we've worked out a deal on a gently loved 116610 and I can't wait to get it on my wrist. The feedback on David was overwhelmingly positive so I think I made the right decision! It was tough deciding to let the ND Sub go but ultimately I wanted a date and the modern updates are too good to pass up! Thanks again guys, I'll post pic as soon as I have the watch!
