Help needed!!

Hey folks, a friend of mine offered me an AP Offshore like the one above, but honestly I've never seen one. I search the AP website and couldn't find the model. Is this watch an authentic AP???

Tks!

Wait a sec. The watch in the picture is fake. But there was a model that looked like that, it was called Royal Oak Offshore White Themes I believe.

Nice fake (not really).

AP's do not have random screws, they are all even with the dial as shown on a REAL AP below yours:

YOURS NOT EVENLY ALIGNED:

THIS IS WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE:

Thought the misaligned screws would be a dead giveaway on any fake AP...

This is what it should look like. Examine the details, yours does not look like this.

Friends don't let friends peddle fakes. If he chooses to buy/wear them, that's his own foolish business. When he tries to sell fake stuff? That's illegal.

If he is trying to sell you this as an authentic AP, I would say time to give-up him up as a friend.

P.S. If he is selling it to you with a fake AP price, then at least he is not trying to con a friend; but still not right to be dealing with fakes.

I love how crooked the "Audemars Piguet" logo is in the dial. Tell your friend to smash it.

I know straps can be changed, but the real AP comes with a high quality Hornback, not the one in the photo.

There's a sticker on the watch - is your friend a dealer? If so, he's a dealer of fakes

Great job identifying the fake everyone. I really hope your friend was in the dark on this being a fake. I would demand an explanation from him...

Some people do open the AP case and could not bring back the correct alignment, but definitely, this is a FAKE!

well, in terms of the alignment, if you observe the them carefully, the screws can be aligned back to the exact alignment because of the hexagonal groove which allows the horizontal line of the screws to sit nicely perpendicular to the radial lines of octagonal case.

It is the underside screws that will be random as they are round.

You are absolutely right. However, there are some watchmakers that might don't handle AP often enough, they might don't understand the structure of RO and the method to align the bezel screws by loosening those on the caseback side.

For reference, a quick google search bring me to this site.
