Is this member good to deal with?

Has anyone on here done business with the member below?

His member name on here is mklhills. His join date is Sept 2012. he gave me a couple of email addresses as references and I have recieved a reply from 1 saying he is good to go.

The price of the Rolex Milgauss he is selling me has me wondering though..Even with this 1 (good to go) email.....I still actually dont know 100% for sure that maybe it wasnt him sending me that email from an email he has made.

How can I be 100% positive this is all legitimate and how would I 100% protect myself?

I am not trying to trash this member, I may be going a little overboard, I just do not want to get burned for $3250.00

I buy and sell high end pool cues on a website and there is an escrow service for people in this particular situation...do we have something like that here?

Again, I am not saying this is a bad guy, I am just trying to confirm that he is a legitimate seller is all.

Thanks
Shawn

Thanks guys..I asked him for references...he sent me an email with a couple of people to email him who have done business with him....I got 1 email back saying he is good..

I asked what his rock bottom dollar was on his Milgaus...he gave me a price..a very good price...

I told him I would have to think about it since I am going to my Desert STorm reunion at Ft Benning Ga Oct6-7 then me my wife and 11yr old son are going to Panama City Fl for a few days after that so my son can see the beach..I said even though I make pretty good money with the Dept of veterans Affairs and i am also a 90% disabled combat veteran..money was a little tight because we are also saving up to go to Germany next spring and buying a new home in Broken Arrow next spring also...

he said I can pay him 1/2 now my money gram or bank wire transfer...then pay him the remaining half in either 1 or 2 installments.. I told him I didnt feel comfortable doing that because I didnt know him and he doesnt know me..

I have him my mailing address and cell # and he said he has tried to call me a few times but to no avail....well, I got 4 calls from a blocked number...he gave me a cell number to call him back on (but for all I know that could be a pre paid cell)

This whole thing is starting to stink personally. I have never had a Rolex and am about to foam at the mouth to get one, but I have to protect myself since I dont really make that much money that I can just afford to be throwing 3-4k away.

When he said payments...I almost jumped at it and started to think about it and how its all sounding kinda fishy. I hope this is a legitimate person, but I have to be careful and protect myself.

All your help is appreciated more than you guys will ever know!

Shawn

Sounds too good to be true, when in doubt walk away. I'd walk, fast.

He's just trying to get any amount of money out of you. That is way too good of a price for a mil.
Keep your money in the bank until you find a reputable dealer, do not rush such a large purchase.
Use the trusted sellers here, most likely they have the best deals.

If you're not 100% sure about seller don't buy the watch.

All things just sound so fishy. A brand new member asking for a wire transfer with no history before. Offering a watch at half price and willing to take any amount of money from you....calls from a blocked number.

As a service member, thank you for your service and I would hate to see you get scammed by this guy.

I am going to go with my gut feeling and you guys are just the icing on the cake!

If I had not been hurt 15yrs into my service, I would still be in with 26yrs...I loved serving our country...and now, I love serving our Vets..

My disability pay check and my work check do not afford me the luxury of being able to take a chance with $3000..I wish I did make the kind of money that I could take a chance, but the reality is I dont...and with my PTSD getting so sever, It looks like I may not have a job with the VA much longer and if I get 100% disability, $3000.00 a month is gonna be hard to live on, but we wil make it...I just want 1 Rolex while I can afford it..

Now it looks like some dickwad is trying to scam me...my switch just flipped and I am pissed.. well, at least I have you guys looking out for me and all the other members who need help like this.

So seriously, from the bottom of my heart, I do appreciate each and every one of you guys for giving me your advice! You just saved me from wasting a bunch of money!

I have sent a PM to this mllhills requesting an explanation. If it's not forthcoming within the time frame given then appropriate action will be taken.

Like I said before, maybe I am being to careful. This may be a legitimate deal and he may be a great person. I just have to protect myself, and I guess the TRF Community.. I hope I look like a dummy by asking all these questions and he being a respectable member of this community...because I hate to trash anyones image...that is not my intentions...

But thank you all for looking out for me and others on here.

This was one of my post, I never said you were not a legitimate person, but you have to admit, everything was kindof fishy..there was no way in the world I could verify if the emails were legitimate or not. The blocked numbers...and with you not knowing me personally letting me pay you 1/2 now and the rest later. EIther your the most trustworthy person in the world...or something else. I told you I did not feel comfortable doing the transaction, but you insisted you were legit.....so I asked on here if anyone could verify you. There has not been 1 person publicly say you are legitimate..

Now, again, I am not saying you are not legitimate. I am just tring to protect myself by being as careful as I can. If everything checks out ok with the MODS..you reputation has not been tarnished.

Shawn, you were going to send him half the money, you get the watch and then
pay him the rest later ? That's kinda strange that not knowing each other this would happen.

This really sounds kinda fishy, Espically At That Price

Yes he did, he sent me an email to my VA work email like I asked.

He responded with an IWC watch for $1400 and the Milgauss for $3600 but he dropped it to $3250 when I asked for a rock bottom dollar he would sell it for
