Kinda sick to my stomach
can someone clear something up for me... is the dssd a newer watch? I bought my sub 12 years ago and have always disliked the size of it being 6'2 220. Then I saw a comparison of the sub and dssd and wanted to kill myself... was the dssd around 12 years ago?

DSSD was introduced in 2008:

Simple answer no the DSSD was launched at Basel 2008 but apart from the size and depth rating that no man will ever use. It uses basically the same movement as your sub, and will add myself around the same size as yourself and have no problem wearing a 16610 sub or the 16600 SD or any other Rolex come to that.Although the latest fashion trend seems to be larger watches, IMHO bigger is not always better when it comes to watches. But got to ask if you have always disliked your sub why ever did you buy it in the first place.

I would suggest the same as Mon, sell the sub (you'll get much more than you paid for it) and get the DSSD from a trusted seller here. Win Win situation!

mate im sitting here reading this while i look at my 16610 on my wrist....there is now way in this world that it looks like a "womens watch". seriously mate give yourself an uppercut then take a long hard look at yourself (and your wrist) again...god whats the world come to when a 40mm watch looks small....:For the record im 6'3" and 230.

The original sub had its day -- it came and went ---now the trend is towards heavier and thicker watches--- the sub is a 50+ yr old design and does look pretty frail when it comes to many other watches ---As for me personally, no more skinny watches from Rolex ---- I am gonna go for a 2nd deepsea and even a 3rd one because I feel that the DSSD offers to me the best bang for the buck ---- anyother Rolex I hold in my hand, I find myself saying "Is that all I am getting for my $$".... I like my watches beefy -- so I am planning on selling my two Seadwellers for one DEEPSEA --- After wearing the DSSD, even the SDs feel pretty womanly...... |

and thickness, and it is from ROLEX, I just feel l got more for my $$ and had Rolex not made the DSSD, they definitely would have lost a large customer base.... and after holding and wearing the DSSD, to me, nothing from the Rolex lineup suffices, because I am only into diver watches so the DSSD trumps their lineup... |

Your watch looks fine but IMHO should be worn slightly above the wrist bone.

If you don't wanna ditch your 16610 but find it too small on your wrists then suggest to add the DSSD to your collection. Problem solved.

Is that a chick's watch? haha.. just joking, big guy. Looks fine. if you are tripping, find a trusted seller here and offer cash and your watch. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to play ball with you. FWIW, I do think the later DSSD would look far better on your tree trunk of an arm.
