What's your Grail Watch ???
Lot's of new folks here, and plenty of old friends..
Have you found your Grail Watch yet ??? Maybe someone on the board has it ?? Maybe it's out of your reach ? Or maybe you're still thinking about it ? Mine used to be the TT Black Sub....But I've had one of those for so long now, I find plenty of others to lust after.. I especially like the Red Sub...Several members have fine examples..... Yep, that's mine.. What's yours..???? |

I think you are gonna get a lot of replies saying SS Daytona, but that is so predictable. Not sure if there is a grail watch for me but I would like to see if owning 2 reduced the cravings
GMT IIc would maybe go a little way on this. f |

If I were to choose a grail Rolex watch, I would choose the:
1665 DRSD, or 1680 Red, or 6263 Daytona, silver dial. But since "grail" per definition suggests only ONE watch, probably the 6263 would get my vote: The most beautiful Rolex watch EVER made, IMHO.

I can quickly answer that questions when it comes to cars, guitars, and coins. When it comes to Rolex watches and women; I change my mind daily. Not talking love...talking lust.

As I've said before, not the rarest or the most expensive, but the 6542 has always held something special for me.
And again NOT MY PHOTO |

Bo,
I would agree if it had a rotating bezel. Don't think the Daytona ever came with one. But that is a sticking example. Mike, That thang is a beauty! Really has a look all it's own. dP

The 6542 turns up now and again on SCs and once in a wahile on the bay. Nice ones in an all correct configuration are rare. The bakelite insert was known to be fragile and today command $$$$$.
As with a lot of references at the time these watches were well used. Who would have known what the future held. |

Mine is a combination wristwatch/pocket watch with the unfortunate but also amusing name of Julius Assmann 4 by Glashütte Original. If I ever hit the lottery...

I'm with Mike. The 6542 is the ticket. But who wouldn't love a Pussy Galore?!

Actually, my grail watch at the moment would be the Rolex Submariner. I'm planning to buy that one early 2008. Then, my grail watch will be the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time. What a watch!!

If I had to choose ... I have two grail watches:
One is obtainable .. I8kt YM with MOP and Ruby Dial. The other- if I get to the YM, I have a slim chance of maybe one day owning one of these... Plat Pres - with diamond and Meteorite Dial.... I'd sell my soul for either !!! |

Mine is a Patek 5146 J. It is out of my reach at the moment, but one day maybe. I used to say that about owning a DD or a Rolex in general. Maybe for my 50th birthday, that gives me 5 years to save up.
