Is the Nissan Maxima tech package worth it?
About to pull the trigger on a 2012 Maxima SV with premium package. The dealer would add another 1500+ to the cost for the tech package: navagation, zagat review, weather, and bluetooth streaming audio. I am 100% sure this is the vehicle I want can any Maxima owners chime in on whether the tech package is worth it? Thanks all!

Oh I agree haha my family is very loyal to Nissan and I test drove it and it was a rocket 290hp with still reasonable MPG. Think worth it to pay for the tech package?

My views are often at odds with those who have finer tastes, but it is my humble opinion that the package is not worth $1500.
I honestly haven't looked in to these packages too closely, because I have basically rejected their value out of hand. But here's why. I don't want a built in navigation system. If it goes kaput, you have to get a whole new kit and kaboodle. The dealer doesn't stock these things. I know this to be true, so be prepared to wait until they can get one from the factory. I don't need my car to tell me the weather. Can't your phone or the radio do that? Zagat reviews? Really? Now on-board Bluetooth connectivity would be nice, but if it's only available with the above features, I can get by with my Plantronics Voyager Legend earpiece. Now, if you want to wow your friends and family, I guess this package would be just the thing, but I don't think it's worth the money. Learn to juggle. That'll wow the neighbors.

My first car was a Nissan 350Z manual transmition, i was nuts and careless but that car was so reliable that it can take care almost anything (comparing to sports cars and sedans) and the running cost + fixing charges and body parts prices are low comparing to other cars. i had an accident and sold the car as it is (damaged) but i got 60% out of its original value (though the agent would charge me more than 50% of its value to get it fixed)
so i am a happy ex Nissan Owner. and will always take the first opportunity that gets in my way to buy another one. (though I own a german car now!) imo the package means more fun + better resale value |

yes buy the package its only $1500, I'm not a fan of aftermarket over factory installed. If you buy the car with the upgrade, its covered under the factory 3-36k
good luck |

Thats your call. Navi is on your cell and a $100 garmin these days. You have to see the value in it. After having it a few weeks the 'cool' factor goes away. Have you looked at any other options? G37 big discounts right now. 2013 Accord pretty awesome features will be class leading. Lexus Es new design and priced right. I like the Maxima but it's a car that has struggled to find a place in the price category it competes in. Just my two cents.

I would say no. The value doesn't seem to be there.
If you were talking about blind spot sensors, a rear view camera, active cruise control, self leveling suspension, etc. I might say yes.
