Anywone experienced this before?? i tried to remove the watch bands links/ pins or screw tubes (whatever you want to call) to switch to a set of aftermarket leather straps i bought recently, but then one of the links was really tight to get it off, & when i finally got that out, i realized that the threads came out with it; so i called the dealer where i bought the watch from yesterday, & the sales told me that AP will not cover this under warranty because clients are not suppose to repair/ service their own watches, only auth. service center from AP can!

so my questions is, does it happen often? does anyone know ap install the watch bands tubes with loctite or some sort of glues to secure the thread for backing out?

& since they told me i cannot get my 2 weeks old diver warranty under this issue, which means i have to buy a set of new tubes from them, does anyone know how much it will cost? & do i have to buy the whole new set of plots as well? also i have small wrists, so might as well, i might order a set of short version rubber bands from them, does anyone know whats the damage in my wallet that i m looking for?? or is there any aftermarket company makes a short version complete set of rubber bands for diver? any info you have for me will be great, thanks guys!!

Sorry to hear about the threads getting "screwed up". Yes, AP uses a loctite. I do not know the answer, but your dealer certainly should. That said, the answer likely will be yes you can buy the screw and nut separately and it will likely be $40 just because it is AP. I base this on a Rolex link screw being $5 so AP will be under $40.

AP doesn't use loctite on the screw heads, But i would recommend doing it and use the pink one NOT THE GREEN.

I also recommend change the screws about every second time you change straps.

Well whether AP uses loctite or not, i still have to replace it before i can wear my watch again! but i never thought its a one time use type of deal for these screw tubes! but oh well.. it is what it is, & it obviously pulled the threads out of the tube on one end!

so @ TSW, do you know how much are those tubes costs? & do you know the size differences between the short strap & extra short strap?? i need one more hole on the standard diver rubber band, so should i go for short or extra short??

The screw and nut are about 30-40USD.
About the strap size the XS is almost 1,5cm shorter then the standard.

I have a broken one of these screws as well, oddly the local ad had to order them and I an still waiting. So now I only have one operational ROO at the same time...
