51300 Accuracy Issue

My bramd new NIB RO 51300 appear to be gaining almost 5 minutes a week during the first two weeks i've owned it. This is way in excess of acceptable standards. Is this common and something that will resolve once the watch 'breaks in' or should a ship it back to AP straight away.

I've read a few people post about break in time for their APs but i've never had to do anything of the sort with my Patek, Rolexes or Omega. This is my first AP.

You mean the 15300? It is not normal by any means. Mine loses or 4 seconds a day which is within COSC standards. Leave it face crown up overnight and see what happens. It should adjust, if it doesn't then time to send it back.

Take it back to get it regulated under warranty, 5 mins per week is totally unacceptable for a $10k+ watch!

Yes 15300. Typo.
MSRP = $15,000
It has sat overnight with crown up.
I was thinking it could be due to watch sitting on a shelf in the box for long period before getting sold

What's the variation now? I had another AP with such a high variance for a while and after a few nights it corrected to +15 seconds.

It's almost +1 minute per day.

Unfortunately, not covered by warranty. I purchased NIB, but not from an AD.
Still, if it doesn't correct in the next week or so, I'll send off to AP for correction on my dime.

It will get better after a couple days, you'll see. Good luck either way!

I'll be damned. 12 hours on its side with crown up as you suggested and it hasn't lost a second. I'm going to leave it like this one more day as you suggest and see if it's been re-calibrated.

Wasn't there a AD stamp in your warranty booklet?

Just send it to AP for regulation and get the 3rd yr warranty validated while you're at it.
