Excited but a little unsure...
Because this will very shortly be wearing a Tropic 19 dome...
What do you reckon, and would you mind casting a vote up above?

I was just like you. Bought a T19 Superdome and was thrilled that it looked like my 1665...
Then, after a few weeks, it starts eating into me. It just doesn't feel right. Then back to the cyclop it was born with and all's well with in the horological universe again.. Lesson learned, 'Don't mess with the purist inside you' |

Top hat is one of the hallmarks of the 1680 I wouldn't change it personally

At one time, I thought about doing the same to the 16610. Now that I have the 1680 red, the purist in me says no.
Either way I always look forward to your pictures. |

Not a red, but dome for me. From what I have read, Rolex was ok with either one of these, but the 19 had to be customer requested.

Both look very nice in their own way. But, I prefer originality.

T-19
I love the top hat look, but that dial is just so beautiful that it shouldn't be obscured one bit by a cyclops. I vote T-19.

I did this to a white 1680 and a snowflake, but probably will not do it to a red.

No harm trying it, it's a reversible change anyway, quite like the way it looks. Wouldn't you have to pressure test your watch again after doing that?

Well, it's actually looking pretty close at the moment - I'm finding this all quite interesting though. I'm certainly still planning to switch, but as I'll still have the top hat it's not that much of a biggie, I wouldn't have thought.

Honestly, I can't choose one over the other because I love each look so much. Sorry that I'm of no help whatsoever

Top hat for me Tony..... just gives it that unusual and distinct look.....
SD just turns it into just another watch even though you can see the dial clearer. |
