Size ok?
Had the day off today and went window shopping with the missus - just wandering aimlessly and ended up at the AP boutique.
Been thinking for a long while about a new addition and the Royal Oak kept popping up as a potential contender after seeing all the amazing pics and posts recently. I really wanted to see the blue and black dial but alas they didn't have any in stock, so I tried on the white (15400st.oo.1220st.02). Given that I have a puny 6.5 inch wrist, I was concerned about the size of the watch, the fit and how it looked. The missus took these pics and I didn't check it before leaving so they may not be the best shots. Your opinions please. |

IMHO looks a little big. I would suggest getting a Jumbo 15202 or a discontinued 15300 for a better fit as both are 39mm.

Second this. It's fine, but think the 39mm will look just a bit better on you.

Not bad. But a black or blue dial might suit your wrist better as they tend to wear smaller.

Once the bracelet is properly sized it will sit a lot better. That said, depending on what YOU like and makes your heart sing is what you should get. I think the 15400 looks good on you as a larger watch. So many people with all sizes of wrists are wearing other (very large) models and are extremely happy. So, why, because it's not a ROO (or DSSD) should you worry about the size. However, if YOU feel it's a bit large or uncomfortable, then you should try the 15300. Or, try the 15300 anyway, that's half the fun of getting a new watch!

I agree, looks good, I also have 6.5inch wrists and I can use a 44mm Panerai.

Each end of the dial case go over the sides of your wrist. That means it too big in my opinion. Try the 39mm 15202.. will fit much better.

It looks generally fine. I got the 15400 in black and now that I've worn it for a few months, I see what everyone is saying about the 15300 being a better fit. The RO case seems to look a tad bigger but I still think it looks fine. Can't go wrong either way. Go for it!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm going to try the 15300 and see how it feels.
A couple of you suggested the 15202, what are the key differences between the 15202 and the 15300/15400 - excuse my ignorance. Another possibility is the Nautilus. I haven't tried it on yet but the pics seems to suggest it would wear smaller than the RO. Any comments on the Nautilus vs. the RO. |

Yup. Comparable Nautilus models are indeed smaller and wear thinner than the RO counterparts. Tried a 5712 and it was much smaller than my ROC. The 5980 chrono is bigger, but also $40k.

I would recommend the smaller 39mm.
I have just about the same wrist size as you OP, and the 39mm case is perfect for me.

I concur with those recommending the 15300. My wrists are small as well - 6.75 and the 15300 is perfect.
The 15400 had too much "overhang" on me In a strange way other than the height the 15300 kind of fits me similarly to my 44mm Pam. |

Not bad, but a 39mm RO would be perfect for you. My 6.5 inch wrist speaks from experience!
