Ordering rolex parts at an AD
I bought a 90's TT GMT II a while back: if I wanted to order a bezel insert at an AD how would that work?
If I want to order a root beer insert, and my watch has a black bezel would they still be able to do the order? Or would they ask me to show them a root beer gmt to be able to order the part? Also whilst I know prices differ from place to place most of the time, if I wanted to order the gold gmt hand set how much would that run for typically? (as in having them replaced) Thanks in advance! |

Depends on where on earth you are as most AD's won't sell you parts without them installing it.

GMT inserts, at least in the UK, are pretty easy to come by, as are black Submariner inserts, just a case of going to an AD and ordering them. If you want a green insert, or anything ceramic...good luck!

You can always order any insert you want at every AD's store, but the insert have to match the watch you present. The difference in certain European countries , like Switzerland or Sweden maybe UK , is that you can keep the old insert. For other parts , like hands set , it's NO. |

Back around 90 or 91 order a pepsi bezel spring and all for my 1675.
$50. Use to change back 'n forth between the Black and Pepsi all the time. Bet you can't do that anymore in the USA. |

There are also independent watchmakers with Rolex parts accounts in case your local AD's are uncooperative.

has more limitations on what they can order than an AD, at least in the U.S. Is that not the case? Regards, Jack D. |

No, they can order what is needed to repair/replace worn parts during service. They do not "sell" parts. So the bezel gets swapped.

As a Rolex account holder I can order Bezel inserts using your model and serial number but I have to install it and only the color insert that originally came on your watch can be ordered. Ceramic bezels are not obtainable at present time except sending your watch to Rolex. Rikki
