Meisterstck rollerball and posting?

Hello,

I considered a purchase of a legrand rollerball and was wondering if the pen cap posts well for writing, and if when posted does the cap scratch up the end of the barrel.

Thanks,
Jim

It can be posted, but depending on how hard you place the cap it may start to leave a light scratch over time. I generally do not post my Legrand rollerball.

I have always been told that rollerballs by MontBlanc are not meant to be posted.....so if you do expect the barrel to get scratches...as already stated!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

Makes sense as I found the cap when I posted it would sneak up and off the pen. Something I found very annoying.

I do not post my rollerballs, as scratching the resin is an issue, but for me it throws off the balance when writing.

I was told at the Boutique that it also strches the seal inside the cap so air could penetrate and dry the rollerball ink out faster. I do not post.

Does not post well. Doe NOT leave scratches on the BLACK resin, though. I prefer to post, but need to really twist it to lessen the chance of it falling off. Scratches are made on my metal rollerballs fom posting.

I've posted my Le Grand Rollerball 5 days a week for the past 5 1/2 years. No scratches and no problems.

Obviously don't jam it on hard but it will post without any issues. If my rolerball dies tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate to go out and get another MB Le Grand. I absolutely love the way it writes, feels and love the long ink reserve.

If memory serves me correctly, the MontBlanc Starwalker series of Rollerball and Ballpoint pens are made to be posted. As they have threading on the tail end of the barrel just for that purpose!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Sounds like you have been really lucky over the years...I've been told by many including the company MontBlanc Boutiques not to post their pens so I do not. I hope your luck continues.....

Take it easy.....Leo

Pardon my ignorance, trying to learn about pens here.

What does post mean?

Post means when you put the pens cap on the back end of the pen

Thank you, I learned something new today!

I'm in the market for a Starwalker rollerball and I do remember the cap has threads for screwing the cap on.

I've read of bad experiences with the starwalker resin rollers. The plastic to metal threads wear quickly. Only what I've heard.

If you post the resin cap, then you have to be careful.
You will cause some scratching if you post the cap often enough.

I always post the cap and have been doing so for many years with no marks or scratches.

Two years of near daily use and posting. No issues at all.

The whole pen has fine scratches over it due to use, but I can't see any that look like they come just from posting.

Don't worry and just enjoy the pen.
