Bought your grail but still thinking of others.....

2012 has been great, I've managed to purchase the 2 watches which I've always wanted: Omega SMP and Rolex DJII

But despite getting what I've always thought are the watches that I wanted, I still can't take my eyes off the GMTII, Omega PO 42mm and worse of all, DJII with blue lume sticks (mine is the 116300 with blue roman)

Is this normal or am I just too greedy and fickle minded?! In addition, these watch forums are really pretty addictive!!

In all seriousness, it's a sickness. Wear your current pieces with pride and be grateful that you've been able to purchase such awesome (and expensive) watches.

The addiction will never subside, so enjoy the ride!

I think you always need something to shoot for. I picked up 4 watches this year, first from an AD, 2 from DavidSW, and my Grail from Mark Theken....a WG Daytona Meteorite.

That being said, once you have the Grail, it ceases to be one, so I was longing for a WG Sub. Just made a deal for that yesterday and expect it next week from DavidSW.

The only question is.....what will be my next Grail.....I'm already eyeing a Paul Newman Daytona.

I think the TRF does this to people...I know few people who only own 1 Rolex, and they're fine with it.
I visit the forum daily and see too many nice watches...in turn it makes me want every single one

It's normal for most of us watch folk, however it's sick to me for myself... It just doesn't end, ever :/ and sometimes I wonder what the hell is wrong with me? How can I not be content with my collection that's pretty insane? Oh well

I bought my Grail a month ago, anxious to return to the "one-watch" days where you strapped it on and didn't think about it or what you were wearing. Three days later I bought back a vintage DJ TT I used in the trade. Then I replaced the 1998 EXPII Polar with a very like new 2010 Noir (with the 3186 movement). I'm expecting Rolex #4 at the end of the week.

It truly is a sickness...

I bought my Grail three months ago & still thoroughly enjoying the honeymoon.

I have to make a conscious effort to wear my other watches & then they're only on the wrist for 6 hrs.
I know that this situation will probably change but cant see it happening for a while yet.

I got the same problem, I now got 4 Rolex's. Wean I first purchased my first one I was 99% sure it would be my first and only watch, for the next 10-20 years. Oh boy was I wrong... There is no need to fight it, just let it flout your boat and take you to what ever watch the addiction wants.

Something I do to keep from spending too much money on watches, and to keep them from stacking up is I put some of them for sale every now and then, for a price higher then what I payed. This way some of them every now and then gets sold and I get fresh cash to buy another watch or one more of the same.

Welcome to the club - you can check out, but you can never leave ! When I joined TRF, I had 3 Rolex watches and a few other brands - I now have 7 Rolex watches, and a few other brands and I still NEED to buy the Sub C and DSSD - good luck !

I believe the term "grail" is over used a lot here. The fact that it is near impossible to obtain would mean that people wouldn't be getting them all the time. It's more of a casual term here. I don't really see myself getting my grail unless I do a life restructure, which is not going to happen (too many expensive hobbies).

I agree The term grail for a WIS, at least IMO, is usually interchangeable with "flavor of the month". Nothing wrong with that though

I'm glad there're so many like-minded fellows here (makes me feel normal)!!

I've to say that the lust and desire for another timepiece can be quite overwhelming, especially some of the models from my favorite brands: Rolex and Omega! And these watches really know how to seduce my innocent mind!
