24 hour to local time.
Then use the hour hand jump feature to move with me while traveling, thus leaving the 24 hour hand for easy reference of home!!

There is no right or wrong however, so set it how or what you want it to display.

You're in for a surprise then when they are at BST half of the year...

Remember, you actually change the time zone when you go to/from daylight savings time, so London will be in WET(GMT, UTC) in the winter and in WEST(BST, CET) in the summer. Of course, the central parts of Europe will go from CET to CEST in the summer.

The timezone abbreviations are only aliases for UTC+/- some time. UTC+1 is called CET in Berlin and BST in London.

Oh, regarding the half hour time zones, Katmandu has a 45 minute offset from nearest hour, that is even harder to dial in on a modern GMT watch.

If I ever get to rule a country I am going to have a 37 minute offset in the winter and a 13 minute offset in the summer just to annoy people, eh, I mean my underlings...

If I had one, this is what I would do, not Vegas but to the time of where I would like to be... right now that would be Honolulu time.

24 hour hand set to French time, the other to home time in Canada. When I am in France, the quick jump moves to French time, the bezel rotates to indicate Quebec time on the 24 hour hand.

Isn't GMT = UTC = Zulu?

I'm unfortunate in the fact that I live in a GMT +9 1/2 time zone

The bezel free rotates to compensate for that
