Is the Lady Date Just not SCOC??

I noticed today that my mother in law's lady date just does not say superlative chronometer officially certified on the dial. See pics below. Hers is the diamon one. However, my wife's watch does say it on the dial (roman numerals).

My mother in law bought hers at a Las Vegas AD.

Does this mean it is not an SCOC?

There are one or two ladies DJ that don't have the Superlative Chronometer on the dials but i think it is still COSC certified.

But i am a Rolex noob, might want to wait and get some info from some of the well informed people on this Forum

Thats correct on that particular dial its not stated, but today the COSC test is little more than a pure marketing ploy.As over the years many Rolex watches were not tested but exactly the same movement in models that were.Take the 6263/5 Daytona vintage range the all gold versions were COSC tested but the S.steel versions were not but exactly the same movement. And watches like the Explorer were COSC tested but the no date sub and Airking were not, but all have exactly the same movement. Now all Rolex watches are tested, but because a watch has been COSC tested it don't mean that movement is the holy grail of watchmaking.Today most any mechanical movement when correctly adjusted and regulated could pass the Swiss COSC test but if not a chronometer grade movement would have to be re-regulated more times to keep it there.

Nope - not all are COSC. Depends upon the movement used in the model at the time (referring to older Lady DJ's).

The curent ladies line is COSC, though

No it does not mean is is not COSC...the Jubilee Diamond Dial and some other Diamond Dials just say "Datejust" - even in the current model line-up. Just a cleaner look...

If her's is an older model, you would need to know what movement is inside. If it is current model, then it is COSC.

You won't find the chronometer marking on the Jubilee dial - there are a few dials that do not state it. The only Rolexes currently in production that are not chronometer certified can be found in the Cellini range
