Icon5 Strap and buckle widths

Looking to get some leather straps for a pair of Datejusts that will soon arrive.

If memory serves me correct, rarely does it ever , the "watch end" is 20mm, correct?

Regarding buckle, an original Rolex SS buckle is 16mm or 18mm? Dealer says 16, but not 100% sure. I am finding it very hard to find aftermarket straps that go from 20-16, have seen some 20-18.

Does anyone know for sure the dimensions that I need? Any good leads for good "bang for the buck" straps?

Rolex bracelets and straps all taper down to 16mm..

They are unusual and you are correct, most others are 18mm.

As long as you get one with 20mm at the lugs it will fit. The rest is personal preference on how much taper you want

Dressier 20mm straps are often made with a 16mm buckle. If that's what you want, keep looking, cuz they're out there.

I prefer a 20/18mm strap but have a few 20/16's.

Thing is, I placed the order for a genuine Rolex buckle in SS for a Datejust I just got my wife, so whatever strap I get, has to be 20-16 in order to use the original buckle. I don't want to pay Rolex prices for leather straps (had pretty good $30 ones on my Panerai.... Too bad they don't make 20-16 straps). Any leads where to get 20-16 aftermarket straps?

Try strappedfortime. I searched their site under "20mm" and exotic skins and the first one listed was 20/16mm.

Any other leads for 20/16mm straps? Strappedfortime seems to be down for now.

Seems like when the site went down a few days ago, they removed the straps I was looking for! Called them and confirmed that they don't have what I am looking for (20-16 straps in pink or white).

Anyone else could share some leads as to where I could find straps that would work with genuine Rolex buckles? If this gets to be too much, I will sell my buckles and just use "run of the mill" straps instead...

Hirsch wants nearly an extra $230 to do a 20-16 s 20-18. You would think that with less material they would charge less, not more!

Trying to find these straps for <$50 each.... Any leads? Shame that the original ones pointed to have been discontinued

For future reference: Strapped for Time does carry the 20/16 straps, but on genuine exotic skins. A few years ago, I did source calfskin straps with croc stamping on them from Strapped for Time with the 20/16 taper and the manufacturer for these calfskin straps is Hadley Roma. Now to see if I can source these again for the recently acquired (again!) Rolex 6605.

It is 20mm and tapers down to 16mm. The buckle is 16mm. It is purposely unusual so that you have a hard time finding a strap/buckle for it.

Ladies' size, calfskin (alligator grain), in certain colors, from Hadley Roma, at Strapped for Time, are in fact available at what I consider a very good price ($23.95). Just need to find similar priced for men and in colors I'm interested (blue, black, gray).

I also found out that Hadley Roma is USA's importer for Hirsch, another company that has a wide variety of 20/16 straps, albeit at a much higher price point.

OK, I'm about to just give up..... Anyone have a lead/tip on how to find a 20/16 mm blue men's calfskin (with croc stamp/print)? Bonus points if you can find them for <$30 as is the case of the sample I posted above.

Just when I was about to give up, David at Strapped for Time went the extra mile for me and sourced the strap I was looking for. If anyone ever needs a leather strap, I strongly recommend giving David a try, especially for these hard to find 20/16 straps.

Forgot to update this thread! Finally got the new strap. Was a bit stiff when it first arrived, but now has molded to my wrist. And now that I finally have it the way I want it, the watch is leaving to its original owner (for the second time!).

I want to again thank David for going the extra mile and sourcing for me this strap!
