Which Rolex To Get?
Good evening all,
I just stumbled upon this forum earlier on and figured I'd make an account. I'm a huge watch buff, especially with a strong love for all things Rolex. I figured this would be an appropriate forum to pose a question to those knowledgable with the brand. I'm close to my 22nd birthday and I would like to know what would be an appropriate Rolex for someone my age to wear without being too flashy. Cheers, Pat |

Whichever you like. I don't think any rolex is "flashy" except the ones covered in multi colored diamonds

As Padi said, choose the one that appeals to you the most. That said, my opinion is to get the sub or sub date. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your decision. |

Anything in the SS sports line would probably be the most common answer, but any can be worn daily. Your choice.

Welcome to TRF, if you're concerned about being too flashy Stainless Steel is the way to go.
Imho any model you like, SS, TT, or full Gold would be appropiate, as long as it's the one that makes you smile the most. |

You're 21, so lets start with budget first. What do you want to spend?

The older model subs like 16610 are less flashy and shiny than the new ceramic Subs so that might be best for you. And they are also much cheaper.

Regardless of which you pick it will be something special.
So take your time, do some research, try some on, and chose the one you like the most.

Only you will know which one fits the bill after you have tried on different watches. Just make sure that the one you buy is the one you absolutely love..........if not you won't be happy with settling.

Have you done any research on old vs new models? Maybe you can repose the question once you've narrowed the field a little.

Yes, look at all models before making a decision. As someone pointed out go to a a dealer and look at what they have, try them on, and see what grabs you the best. Thats how I ended up buying my GMT Master II and I love it- and I'm 24 BTW

i got my GMT IIC as my 2nd rolex after trading in 2 TAG HEUER Carrera models. My first piece was a Daytona ( Black dial ). Even now, i'm still considering whether or not to get a submariner Ceramic as my 3rd piece. the GMT IIC looks great in a suit, but casual wear ? No. The sub C wears bigger as well so we dont know your wrist size. That said, you need to go to a store /AD and try both on. Daytona aint a daily wearer in my case as well so a Sub C is a safe bet. If you get bored with it, flip it for a GMT IIC. Thats the fun of owning a Rolex without getting burned too much. I suggest mint condition so you wont lose much of $ when flipping for another rolex or even funding for an AP |

Hi everyone,
I wanted to thank you all for contributing to my post. Your feedback has been great. I'm going to look for a watch that suits me and one that I will never have any regrets about. As it stands, I am leaning towards an SS GMT ii c and a Submariner although I should note I have a very small wrist. Are there any watches in particular that would be better suited to my wrist size? Thanks again, Pat |
