Just curious as to what you guys/gals think.

It has often been asked: what is the perfect everyday rolex?

But that is very different from the most versatile.

Old or new style....doesn't matter.

What do you think is the most versatile? sport, dress, casual....etc...what goes best in every single situation.

I am thinking DJII (white or black dial) with the smooth bezel or the GMTIIC.

What say you??

I am a fan of the larger size, too. You might say this is "quintessential" Rolex.

I think people will tend to choose their favorite watches on this forum since we have a lot of one-watch-owners, making them people who will have their timepieces on their wrists for every occasion!

If you ask me, I think the SD could be a very versatile watch if worn by somebody who can pull it off. Me thinks it's too big for my wrists though and I prefer smaller watches, hence my decision of forgetting about the GMT-IIc and going for the classic (at least in my humble opinion) original Datejust.

decent point. however, i do believe that the SD is the ultimate sport watch. many people see the sub as not a convenient watch for the boardroom and the SD is two steps sportier than the sub.

the DJ on the other hand might just be the most versatile. imho
