Luminova vs. Superluminova

Does anyone know the difference between the "Swiss" marked luminova dials and the "Swiss Made" superluminova dials?

It's sometimes hard to tell if a dial is luminova or superluminova on dial markings alone.

When Rolex made the switch to luminova circa 1998, dials were marked "SWISS". However; as Rolex already had a number of dials from the manufacture with tritium markings (SWISS T<25) these dials were painted with luminova and used.
The luminosity of luminova was said to be less than ideal and Rolex switched to a higher version--superluminova which of course are marked "SWISS MADE".

However: (again LOL!) Replacement dials are superluminova and only bear the marking "SWISS" at the 6 o'clock.

Man is that confusing! LOL!

I have an acquaintance with a GMT 1675 Pepsi and a service dial from 1998 that says SWISS T<25 that glows brighter when hit with a flashlight. My 1993 Explorer II with SWISS T<25 doesn't react to ambient light. So, I think his GMT has a luminova service dial from 1998 that is marked as tritium dial.

Luminover is made by Nemoto a Japanese luminous paint maker now they moved a part of its factory to Switzerland in 1998 in Joint-ventured with RC-Tritec AG the change from Tritium to Luminover.But this was to establish Luminova AG Switzerland for supplying Luminova to all the Swiss watch industry including Rolex and major brands.Later the name was changed to super-luminover and many other names for basically the same product under various names but all basically the same paint with a slightly different colour pigments.And now we have Chromolight which is now a Rolex trademark but again this could be a special colour blend of luminous paint by Nemoto for Rolex.
