Need Help Identifying Woman's Rolex (Newbie)
Hey everyone! Thankfully I found this forum which has been a huge help so far in learning about these watches.
My grandmother passed away and my wife and I received her Rolex watch. Obviously, I know absolutely nothing about Rolex's. I was wondering if everyone on here could help me identify it. Maybe give some hints as to the age, model, type, whatever comes about of it. Maybe what year it was made? Or can tell me how I can tell? It is not extremely old though, has the leather band, and I am guessing gold face? Again I know nothing about these watches. It is 100% authentic though I am sure of that. Also, if anyone has an idea of what the general value of it would be? How much these types of watches sell for? I am going to put it in a safety deposit box for now until I can figure out more about it. Thanks in advance for the help! I took pictures of it and uploaded them to Photobucket for you all to see. Here is the link to the pictures. http://s1340.beta.photobucket.com/us...tex69/library/ |

It's an oyster date, Two tone ladies watch.
Most likely 26mm in size... The model/serial number will be engraved in the case between the lugs. You'll need to remove the band to see the clearly. The serial number will help to ascertain the approx. age of the watch. Post the first 3 digits of the serial number, and we can give an approximation for you. It's most likely from the 70's though.

I would suggest having it serviced before putting it up. The date wheel mechanism is having some sort of issue to be off-kilter when the hour hand is nowhere near midnight.
