Increase in replicas and scams on eBay! Watch out!

I'm always on the prowl on eBay to find a good deal but I have recently noticed that there is an increase of replicas or straight up scams. I found all of these scams on the first search results of "rolex." That's pretty bad when I have the settings to only show 50 auctions at a time. Here are some of the links:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-18K-GO...item3cce986654

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GMT-MASTER-I...item3f21c156cb

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Vintag...item4170761f60

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MENS-ROLEX-S...item337fa499eb

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-GMT-MA...item460c660421

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Submar...item2c6c27aac8

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Mens-D...item3f21c0d52c

Remember to buy the seller and not the watch. This is very important. Even if they have over 500 positive feedbacks but they've only sold $1-$5 dollar items, don't even bother taking the risk of getting that "sweet" deal. Most of the "recent" fraudulent auctions start off with photos stolen from watch forums or they have actual pictures of the replica watch. They have zero feedback with random user names. Auctions start at $500-$1000. You can see the pattern in the links above. I definitely believe something is going on. I wanted to share this with everyone. Please be extra careful. If the deal seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Notice one thing....all the accounts are "0" feedbacks....they are new accounts...that should be the first indication of something weird happening. This is crazy!!!

Very sad that people scam other people out of their hard earned money .. A friend of mine bought a Patek Calatrava back in May 2011 and it turned out to be a fake. The picture showed a real white gold calatrava. The watch that arrived looked almost like the watch in the picture but had different hour and minute hands. A visit to a jeweler was all it took to confirm my friends gut feeling.

Thanks for posting the pictures, David. Good to see them in this thread after they are removed from Ebay. Great learning material for newbies.

Educate yourself:
Go to an AD and look at watches, review the Ref Library here, for starters.

Not much details given here, for fear of assisting the bad guys.

Well, I don't really care. I've only bought watches new from authorized retailers. Seeing these threads I thought I'd just ask a simple question.

...SAVE these (counterfeit) pic's to YOUR desk top.

...go to eBay and find some genuine versions and COMPARE-very easy to identify the differences.

I find it useful to drop the pictures into google image search. it will show you if the picture has been stolen from somewhere online.
