Rolex is the brand for me. And you?
I guess Rolex really is the brand for me.
I was in Montreal over the weekend with my wife and friends. We went to a major AD downtown, and were looking at the various brands; Omega, Chopard, Blancpain, Girard-Perrageaux, Hublot, Tag, Bregeut, Vacheron-Constantin, Panerai, IWC, Glashutte, and of course Rolex. I was looking at a few Panerai and one remaining Omega Speedy anniversary model (last year's model with the gold sub-dials...nice) as well, they are very nice, but....... Rolex has decades of proven experience of exploration and adventure behind them. Rolex has incredibly beautiful (IMO) designs, colours, dial arrangements, etc. Rolex makes watches that despite being jewellery, tell time very accurately, and can take real punishment. Rolex has one of the most rugged, accurate, simple chronograph designs in watchmaking in the Daytona movement. Rolex is a manufacture, making its own movements, smelting its own gold, crafting its own dials, bracelets and components (except for the Kif shock systems which I understand are sourced out). Rolex has a large world wide service system and will service old and damaged watches to come back like new. I dunno. If I'm going to shell out big bucks to feed my mechanical watch obsession, I like the idea of a work of art that works and that meets the above critera of the Rolex watch; shock and water resistant, rugged and accurate while being so incredibly beautiful, polished and reflective as this brand we all love. Not being disrespectful of the other brands at all, just expressing all the things about Rolex that make it such a unique and wonderful watch for me. I guess that's why I'm a member of the Rolex Forums! Hoping to snare that TT Blue Sub soon, Chris |

Excellent post, Chris!
Believe me! I have also tried on many, many brands, but nothing really seems to beat Rolex!

yea it would be hard for me to own anything other than a rolex. I have looked at the panari, iwc, etc but i think it would be a waste of $ because I would still only wear my Rollies

I've only worn Rolex for the last two and a half years, and don't see myself wearing any other brand again. Had a Cartier, a Breitling, and a handful of others, but there's just something about a Rolex!

I see a lot of other nice watches all the time. The same thought always pops into my head..."It's not a Rollie...".

My TT Sub gets worn once a week or so. It depends on my mood and what catches my interest that day. Could be a NOS 60's Roskopf, ancient Russian Moser, vintage Wadsworth or Bulova, whatever. Although my Rolex is my most expensive watch, none of the others take a back seat to it. It's another watch in my collection.

I love Rolex, but that doesn't mean I have no room left in my heart for other watches. I have 3 Omegas; a 10 year old seriously beat up Seamaster, a Seamaster Chronometer, and a Speedmaster Professional, as well as my 16610, and I love them all!!
I'm looking at a gorgeous Chopard at the moment, and there's a Panerai that really catches my eye, then there's the new IWC Cousteau, but I'd love a Rolex YM SS Plat... There, the list is endless.... |

Like many here even I had owned other brands like Omega, Breitling but there is nothing like Rolex
In fact after owning a Rolex I never switched to any other brand and surely not going to switch in future, so surely Rolex is the brand for me
