At long last a Rolex that's giving Bluesy a run for his money!!
That's right, Bluesy....you better watch out....you now have some real serious competition.
The new Platty is absolutely gorgeous. Nothing, but nothing compares with a noble metal on your wrist...and Platinum says it all. more so, when you've got a stunning full sized platinum dial and bezel which you can admire all day long. This is one dial and bezel that can give the stunning BLUESY Blue dial and blue/gold dial something to think about. Well done, Platty.....we've now got two members in the family vying for top honours!!!

You are right JJ, cause you platty is so nice too and I didnt hear that you bought or I dont know when you bought it, ( so fast flipping ). By the way your bluecy is still TT and a TT version ROLEX is always my choice rather than Platinum. But the bad side of TT version is to be inspired and being noticable everywhere that's what I hate but soon my new and first TT baby will be coming...

I agree both are winners, I have always loved the YM Platinum. It costs more than the Daytona and you still don't see too many of them in the "wild". Truth be known JJ I am saving up to buy one, I just have to have one it is that good. Place your sub on the back burner for now in a few months go back to it. Enjoy the YM my friend.

While the Bluesy is a classic and definitely instantly recognizable, the platty to me is understated yet stunning. I just can't imagine having that much 950 PLAT on one hand! I am sure pictures don't do it justice in the sunlight!! YER KILLIN ME

The YM is one you really have to see in person. I've seen many great pics, but they just don't do it justice. Next time you visit your AD, slip one on your wrist...then add it to your "To Buy" list

JJ I've got a serious spot for the platty. Honestly now, which do you prefer? Sounds like the sub may be in serious danger of taking a back seat. That's something I'd never tought I'd see, but the YM is a seriously beautiful watch, man.

I don't know about that JJ. Whenever the compliments start to fly, whether from the boss, the wife, or a Rolex addict, it usually means the opposite is going to happen.
So long Platty, nice knowing ya'. dP

You're probably right... The veiled compliments are actually his sudden lust for the YMII...

Platty seems to be a second behind Bluesy. But it's closing in fast.
Nice pictures JJ. I still don't undertand why you bought the YM when you've been gushing about the new TT GMTIIc. Price is comparable. I gotta figure Platty will be gone for "Jimmy" pretty soon. |

Platty IS nice. But my vote still goes for Bluesy. Now a pic with Bluesy next to SS GMT2c...

Before recently I didn't consider or appreciate the Platinum YM much, I was focused on the Submariner and recently the GMT II. But I have to admit that your "Platty" is a beautiful watch. Last night I watched "2and a 1/2 men" where the actor Charlie Sheen wears your exact same model and the whole time (I have to laugh at myself on this one) instead of following the plot and laughing at the jokes, I kept asking myself "how can I work it out so that I can own one of those!
It's a beautiful watch and I can see why you like it JJ. Thanks for the pictures. |

Which reminds me of a question: the current YM does NOT have the same Maxi dial the LV has, correct?

My god, you weaklings make me sick! (And look in front of you!). 'Bluesy', 'Platty'. What are you, girls? Call those pieces of metal by their real names and don't copy JJ. Now gimme me 100, and you JJ, gimme 200!
