1: I purchased my new GMT II 116710LN on 14/12/2007 the AD set it up for me and set the time exactly. It is now 7 seconds fast... is this acceptable?

2: I have a job that is quite physical and often dirty so I don't want to wear my watch to work. If I put it on when I get home and wear it all night, taking it off in the morning before work, do I need a watch winder to keep it going?

Any help or info on either would be great.

I would say that your accuracy is within parameters for that watch. Depending on how active you are between work and bedtime I would be surprised if the watch will stay wound. I'd invest in a cheap winder.

+2 seconds a day would be fine by me!, in answer to the power reserve issue , wear it and see only you'll be able to judge accurately. give it a full wind and wear it as you wish will give you the definative answer

Great watch, accuracy is kinda my thing so this for me is not acceptable, but allow the watch some run in time and then check.

2 seconds a day is quite decent performance.I have the exact
same watch and wear it in exactly the same way for the same
reasons,I'm a metalworker so I don't want to wear my watch
all day, machining would not damage it but sometimes I weld as well,this could damage it with spatter.

If your power reserve is running low the rate could in fact speed up.Just for clarity I bought my watch on Oct 27,2007 I have
not needed to wind it at all,I may have given it a couple turns
just to play with it but definately have'nt "wound" it, awesome
piece of functional art.

If it is running a little fast just rest it on edge while not wearing
it it will lose a bit and conversely if you set it "face up" it will
pick up a second or 2 Mine is essentially dead on.

Timekeeping is just fine, but you'd probably need a winder in your case to get sufficient power reserve to get it going / maintaning the precision.
