New Ownership Certificate from Rolex?

Still a bit of a newbie on Rolex ownership. Recently purchased 2 second hand Rolex Subs... have had both authenticated at an AD.

Question is ... does Rolex Canada/US issue new ownership certifricates (whether for insurance purposes... or to ensure no previous owners later claim that the watch has been stolen)? I just don't want to get my watches serviced 2 years from now, only to have them "held" because someone put in a claim that its been stolen (as there are no "claims" against them today).

Is this avaliable (even at a cost)?

I could be wrong but the closest you'll get to an ownership certificate is the paperwork you receive after a RSC service.

You could always take them in for a serial # check.

No Rolex does not give any certificates of any kind to any Rolex watch new or used the only paper/plastic card you get is in the real world just a warranty.Now when you send a watch in for service you will have service papers that will have all watch information plus it will be a full two year warranty.And when anyone sends a watch in for a service the senders name is recorded by Rolex but the service sender does not have to be the owner.But if any watch sent in for service and its on the Rolex stolen list then it will kept by Rolex.

Do you mean to say you bought both watches without a receipt?

Well.. when you buy a watch (even on here), you don't get a "receipt". If I am an owner and sell to you... I can't really issue you a "receipt"... I'm not a store, right?

So in theory... if I buy a new watch from an AD... register it w/ Rolex ... sell it to someone... claim it was stolen ... next time the buyer goes in for service, Rolex holds it... I get the watch back???

Seems really shaddy.

Well, you can always have some kind of proof of purchase. In theory it could be reported as stolen, and if you have no proof, then it would be difficult to show that you were the legal owner

In both cases... I have links to the original posting, email/phone trails w/ the seller, bank withdrawls that align w/ the correspondence, etc.

I guess that should be enough.

To report a watch stolen you need the official police investigation report.. You can't just call them up and say it was stolen..

IMO if you have the boxes and original paperwork then it's less likely to be stolen. I wouldn't worry about it.

One watch I have box and papers... other one, just box (no papers)... hence why I just want to safe guard my self.
