Should I? The Hulk?
Ok. I have finally saved for my second Rolex and I am ready to pull the trigger. I have a sub 116610LN now. I went to a local AD and tried on the Exp II, Datejust II with blue dial and the GMT. I love all of them. Here is the problem. I asked about the "Hulk" since I did not see it on display and wanted to see the color in person. He goes to the back and said he has one. I try it on and fall in love. Amazing color! We talked price and offered it to me for $8500 after about 10 minutes of haggling. He told me the usual. How few they get and how popular the model is so he could not discount much. On to the issue.. Since it is the exact same watch (just different color)I just purchased 4 months ago, should I really spend all that money on basically the same watch or go with a different model? Looking for a sanity check here.

This probably wont help.
I would buy the Hulk, and trade the LN for a GMTc. Perfect combo.

You can't have too many Submariners imo.
I test drove a LV C for the first time last week, much better looking in the metal. My AD knew I was'nt buying, told they don't get too many in and sell at list price only, which in Canada is $9700. |

Get the LV C. I'm bias though as I have both the LV and LV C. I just love that green. Good luck.

My answer is yes you can.
I just traded my GMT IIc for the Hulk which I think is totally different league than black-dialed sports watches as far as looking is concerned. with GMT gone, I'm looking for a black dialed sports watch like 16600 or 16610 for the rotation. Good luck with your decision. |

I agree with Seth and Mike above...the green is a little much (although I am a huge fan of green, wearing a bit of it now) anyway, I would look for something like the DJII or the EXP II for the next. Keep your sub and build around it.

I'm among the minority when I say I am not a huge fan of the hulk, Kermit more so. I do prefer the plain ole no date sub and typical yachtmaster. Get what you like I just think getting a green watch will cause matching issues with your outfits. I'm also a Rolex newb so I'm not sure how much my opinion matters.

I agree with others who say sell the LN and buy the Hulk and then maybe save towards a TT GMT or Daytona.

I agree. I have two subs, green and blue TT. I needed a black/stainless so got a gmt. Trading the black sub for gmt will give you both colors and enough difference in the two.

I say go for the hulk it really looks nice. I don't think the green is to much at all. A little color with your collection would hurt.

Thanks for everyone's feedback! I am still stuck on the fence. I know I wanted the green as my first watch but decided their is no way I could just have a green Rolex. That is why I got the LN. So I guess when green doesn't go with what I am wearing I can wear the black one. I am going to sleep on this a couple of days longer.........

I would go for the blue dial Datejust since you already have a Sub to have more variety in the collection. But hey, if you like the Green Sub, by all means go for it. It's a gorgeous color.

Just picked mine up yesterday. I recently lost one of my watches so went shopping for one. Rolex was not on my radar until I saw the hulk in the store. Fell in love, started to look at different watches in that price range and could not find one I loved more. The green is more subtle than in the store and goes with pretty much everything.

FWIW, I have the Sub LV c, as well as several other Subs.
I don't see them as all exactly the same watch. In my mind the Sub is the classic Rolex and I certainly enjoy my different versions all on their own merit. The LV c is a beautiful model and I hope if you go that direction you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine. |

I think the hulk is as versatile as any black watches color wise . It would go just fine in any color dress up or down.. like I was today..

Buy the hulk and keep the black one, you can never have to many subs.

The Hulk is really growing on me too. I would say if you really love subs then get it. I have two subs and I have no regrets.

I have a Hulk and love it. Probably will have it forever. For a change, I just bought a 114060. I really like it also. As others have said, you can't have too many Subs. I never worry a bit whether the Hulk matches anything I'm wearing or not. Any Rolex goes with anything, IMHO. Buying the Hulk and swapping out the LN for a GMTc is also a very good option.
