What have I done?

Christmas shopping yesterday took me to the usual jewelery stores picking a gift for my wife. However, I came across a new store, and in there found a watch that I just had to have. So with no research (or intention of purchasing), I purchased for myself a gold Yachtmaster with the black oyster face.

This was my first Rolex purchase, I have several Tag's, Breitling and Omega's - but had not really looked at Rolex's before.

Thoughts? Is this a good purchase?

Here she is, sorry not a great pic, just taken using my mobile.

Good point regarding the discount, how could $3,500 off be turned down.

I have to admit that I stuffed the box in a cupbard when I got home, wasn't quite sure how to bring it up last night! I shall go home for lunch and break it out.

Many thanks for the positive responses, I feel vindicated in my choice.

Well we're not exactly objective here LOL!! If you told me you had cashed in a life insurance policy or stole from your kids college fund to pay for it I would probably say something like "nice watch" But hey as long as you can afford it, it really is one of a kind

Vindicated indeed! That is one damn fine time piece

Long story, but i managed to damage this watch strap in a fall and maybe 2 probably 3 links will need to be replaced.

Any idea if this these can be replaced at the AD, or do you think that it will need to be sent to a service centre?

(also any idea of costs?)

Many thanks

Can the damage be polished out or do they absolutely need to be replaced?

PICs might help.

Damage cant be polished out. One of the links snapped with the links either side twisted. No damage anywhere else on the watch.

I only cracked a few ribs.

Darn! Glad you survived. Probably will need to be sent to RSC, and it won't be cheap!
