Oysterquartz: Rolex vs Tudor

Does anyone know if the old Tudor Oysterquartz watches used the same movement as Rolex Oysterquartz watches?

Also, does anyone know for sure ia Rolex RSC would service a Tudor Oysterquartz, or is this technology considered 'obsoleted'?

It the Tudor they used a 7 jewel top grade one from ETA and as the Tudor was ETA powered even a complete movement could be sourced from a third party.

Because the ETA movement for the Tudor quartz is a 'stock' with the Tudor logo, replacing the movement at an independent is no big deal if you can handle the fact it didn't source direct from Rolex/Tudor. In fact, I think the bridge part with the Tudor logo could be removed and put on the new movement, but I wouldn't swear to it.

The only reason to send it to the RSC would be for dial and or hand replacement. Any good watch repair person can replace the crystal and gaskets and refinish the bracelet and case. But that said, the RSC charge really wasn't all that high compared to mechanical servicing. I once sent a Tudor quartz to the Dallas RSC where it was refused and returned to me. I then called the NY RSC and they had no problem servicing it and did, making it look like new.
