Folded or Rivet!?
I can't decide which I like better on a vintage Sub!!
Trying to decide... between a 7206 or a 9315... Thoughts?

Rivet looks like Crap IMHO....ack
I love folded link so much, that I am trying to justify a perfect 9315 for my 1665 |

I like them both and of course depends on which reference and year--period correct works for me!! They both look great as long as they go to correct watch! Cheers,

For me I like the most a bracelet that match with the period of the watch.
I have a riveted bracelet on my Tudor 7928 from '66. The bracelet is also from '66 and that makes is special! But (!) I don't wear the sub on this bracelet because I don't trust those bracelets for 100%... No matters what your thoughts are, it stays old, very old metal... ;-) So the conclusion: a riveted is very very cool! But a folded is more practical for daily use. That are my thoughts. Best! A rivet came with the 1680 and took it off after wearing it for a couple of weeks. It looks decent, and the rivets give it an additional detail, however, it is light in weight, not a solid link, and doesn't resist dents very well. I replaced it quickly with a 93150 and have the rivet in the box. So my vote is for the folded link as an in between of what i have and what came with my vintage.

I also tend to take off the original bracelets to preserve them and wear with 93150, Bund, NATO, or leather strap. I do have a few I wear on original folded link and prefer them for daily wear. Again though I want my watch to come with the period correct bracelet be it folded link or rivet.

What I really like about rivet bracelets is the way it makes the watch head look as "one" with the end links.
Folded is great is well and I enjoy the thickness / taper vs. heavy oyster. I have my doubts about rivet durability as well.. but I have never heard any complaints about a rivet failing. Also, Michael Young mentioned here that in his experience rivets are incredibly strong - and he has definitely seen his fair share of bracelets over time. |

I have a rivet on my 5512. I like the look but also feel it needs some restoration
I don't think you can go wrong with either - sorry I don't help. If I had to vote - rivet

I prefer the rivet bands. The folded bands look so unfinished, where they just fold some metal over twice and called it a bracelet. I always thought they were pretty "cheap" looking.

I realize they're flimsy, but not sure you can beat a Rolex rivet bracelet for a cool vintage look!

I have only worn and seen the expandable rivet once, it was very cool and vintage. Not sure I would want to wear it for my daily
