I just hope this pope is able to cope with all of the issues that faces the church.

Probably not. I think the last major changes occured in the late 50s or early 60s.

They actually move slower than Rolex.

We always like a good tradition, but we shouldn't expect more then that.

according to nostradamus or this will be the last pope ever. I think there is also some scripture somewhere in the vatican that states that number 266 will be the last.

Mon . . . I am watching him right now here but I guess you can do the same thing in about 5 years from here . . .

Why can't they actually go along with time . . . and finally have a Pope of 50 or max 60 years old . . .

It costs fortunes . . . . to have a new one elected . . .

Just my .02 . . .

Anyway I am going to have a drink on the new Pope !

Here is a song the Dutch made when Pope Johannes Paulus II came to Holland in 1985 . . .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LyZn3vyy3M

Freerk will certainly remember it . . . it was a big hit !

Yes, I remember! It certainly was a big hit. The title of the song is a term still used in the Dutch language, although not as much as it used to.

The last pope resigned due to age and failing health, this guy is 76 and reportedly stepped down as Archbishop of Buenos Aires last yeat due to his age. He's an odd choice.

Bonus- "Don't call me Francis."

We should all give thanks to God.

Without God we would not have food, air, earth, or life.

God blesses us, may we be receptive to God and thankful.

God gives us a new pope on this day, to be Vicar of Christ as we wait. I hope the new pope is even more successful in bringing people closer to God than previous popes.
