Submariner Ceramic Blue everyday?
Still narrowing down between a few models, one of which is the 116613LB. My question is whether it's a good everyday watch. I wear jeans and polo shirts and gym cloths mostly, but sometimes dress attire. Do your blue Subc's ever look inappropriate? Can I wear this watch 24/7, day in and out, through all of life's events?

Morning. I wear my ceramic blue Sub, practically every day - work and pleasure. Never looks out of place.

I wear my SS sub anywhere and everywhere.
Can't see any reason why the TT cannot do the same. |

Go for it. The black TT is nice to. A little more stealth.

If I could afford one, I would love it as an everyday watch.

You will have no issues in any outfit with any Rolex. Your Sub will go well in any outfit.

I wear a 116613LB in my normal rotation with no problems. You can wear it for any occasion. It's a watch that dresses up and down. My business attire is blue jeans, sneakers, and a short sleeve shirt. The only thing is that because of the blue, it's the watch that stands out the most. It shines like a beacon, and will be noticed. If you want or need something a bit subdued, consider a black dial 116613LN. Otherwise, go for it!

I own a black sub and a TT 18K/SS Blue Sub. Only view I would share is this (which others may not completely agree with)...
The TT Blue Sub works well dressy/cassual... but really only with brown attire. The Gold and Blue compliment brown shoes/belts, blue shirts, kackies, tans, etc For anything w/ Black shoes/belts, greys, etc... the TT Blue doesn't antually work as well (hence why I bought a black sub). A black formal suit w/ a TT Blue face actually stands out poorly (in a bad way). If you had a TT Black face, then you could pull it off w/ gold cufflinks, gold belt buckle, etc along w/ the black belt/shoes. My 2 cents... but knowing how to acceessorize your watch w/ your wardrobe is important (others will likely not agree), but its in the details that truly makes you stand out. And no, I am not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that)... straight as they come... just have a strong attention to style and detail. |

So the vast majority of you sound like I'll never have a problem anytime with any outfit. Part of my draw to the two tone Sub c is how bold it is, how much it stands out; I want that in my Rolex, but I don't want it to look guady in the wrong situation. I really leaning towards this watch ahead of a DJ and DJII. The DJ's are the safe bet for me. I'm afraid I'll regret the Sub c.

I have an older TT blue Sub before the ceramic bezel and feel that it is a watch that can be worn perfectly with either formal or casual wear. Granted, the ceramic version is a lighter shade of blue it is a classic design and in my opinion goes great with just about anything!

My fear is purchasing and regretting it. From the feedback, it sounds like its classic design and versatility means I can't go wrong.

What I mean by this is - it's easy to get caught up here with everyone's photos and likes/dislikes, but it's YOUR MONEY, and it's A SUBSTANTIAL amount of money at that. I've been following your various threads and you keep saying how you love the DJ line and could see yourself wearing that watch forever. And then you talk about buying a Rolex that others think is blingy... At the end of the day, it's your money and your wrist, but my recommendation is that you try on all of the models you're considering over and over and go with the one YOU feel happiest seeing on your wrist. Don't worry what the rest of us think... I mean that in the nicest way. |
