Opinions welcome
Hello All,
Considering I have the white dial and black dial SS Daytona, I was considering trading the black dial Daytona (BNIB) for a BNIB blue dial Yachtmaster. It would be an even trade. Thoughts anyone? |

You would end up with variety if you made the deal! The Daytona, in my opinion, will hold it's value better. Right now the blue face YM is the "in" watch but I think you will see that the value will decrease a bit once the market becomes filled with them much like the ExpII is seeing.
I still love the YM and think you will enjoy it for years to come. |

Thanks so far folks. I'd do it in a heartbeat as well but kiddodoc makes a point that at the moment leaves me hesitant. I've been told by others to hang on to both Daytonas. I may do it anyway but I sure appreciate the feedback.

I don't think I would, but then again, I'm not crazy about the blue dial. Now if you were talking about trading for the new platinum dial, maybe...

I honestly feel the Daytona is a better value for the money strictly based on movement complications....I think the YM is overpriced so I would not do an even trade. Personally I would not trade a Daytona for YM....good luck!!

I would do it.. The blue YM is beautiful & you would still have one Daytona. I like variety.

Not a fan of the YM. It's a silly watch IMO.
The Daytona has a pedigree and a rich history. The YM...not so much. |

Like I mentioned above, the YM is way too overpriced. Once they are saturated, you can get a like new pre-owned for a great deal from one of the trusted sellers here.

I personally wouldn't trade, and I'm not even a Daytona fan.
As others have stated, the Daytona will holds its value better while the YM is sure to go down in price at least a little. If you want the blue dial YM, just wait a bit, sell the Daytona and buy a YM with cash left over. |

Last comment, lol!! Btw, the platinum on platinum is still a current model, right? I just checked the Rolex site with my iPhone and it only shows the blue dial in steel. Just curious.

Yep, it is still current. My wife just bought the smaller version of it a couple weeks ago. A great watch for sure!

Not a trade I'd make...and I love the YM lineup!
With that said, holding on to the Daytona because of an expected better resale is not a good course either. If you are no longer happy or enjoying the black dial Daytona, then move it on simply for the enjoyment of acquiring another piece that may be more suitable to your taste... There's no right or wrong, just remember to be excited with what you own or wear!
