Factory Diamond for 1803
Did Rolex made President 1803 with Factory Diamond dial and bezel? Would they use white gold bezel on a yellow gold case?

Be wary
That white gold bezel on a yellow gold case gives you enough reason to be wary or suspicious of the seller's claim of factory-originality. Any RSC will be able to verify it.

Well it is a bit more complex IMHO. A correct watch with factory diamond bezel is model 1804 in that series of presidents. However, the first diamond bezels were in white gold mainly and had 46 diamonds not 44. In those days you would see many yellow gold cases with white gold bezels. I have them listed for seperate sale in a 1970's ad catalogue. Rolex encouraged the seperate sale of diamond bezels and dials back then for any president, you could pick what you liked, therefore a 1803 in this combo is not uncommon. However, some would say not factory technically it should be an 1804 to have a diamond bezel. The 18000 series used 44 diamonds set in yellow gold. Of course many sold 1803 models when the 18038 came out and in favour if its new innovations. Many of these second hand buyers used the savings from buying used and upgraded via an ad to a modern model bezel with 44 diamonds from the 18038, in yellow gold to make their watch look more modern, essentially jazzed up to look like the current model which had a plethora of bezel combos in diamond, ruby, sapphire and emerald and was much more expansive in choice. However, only the diamond bezel is listed for seperate sale in my documents.
