My favorite non-Rolex
Clear caseback, light weight, and a free lifetime subscription to the Patek Philippe magazine. Only if it was a Rolex could it be a better timepiece.......(honestly, I need better camera equipment or I should just stop trying)

Patek never sent me a magazine. And yes, you do need a better camera.
But that's one one watch. dP

Richard, that is the worst photo I have seen for quite a while.
Looks like a beautiful Patek, if I squint.

Dan - ALL Patek owners recieve the magazine. Check with your AD as to why you haven't gotten yours. Also, all Patek owners get into the Patek museum if they ever make it to Geneva, and if you haven't been getting the magazine, they don't have you down as an owner. And to all that look at the photo above, I promise to get a better camera before I ever post a picture again.

Nice sports watch, congratulations.
Just out of curiosity, what other models did you consider and what factor(s) made you decide to go with the Aquanaut? I hope you continue to enjoy your PP. |

Since thousands were spent on the Aquanaut, I suggest you spend One thousand on a good digital camera.

Well, then....I'll be sure to get a sense of humor along with that new camera.

Well, the plugs in the background are in focus.
Of course, my camera skills suck too, so my glass house has pretty much just shattered around me. |

Here's why I went with the aquanaut - I only like metal bracelets on my watches. I wanted to add one (just one) Patek to my collection, and anything with a metal bracelet in the Patek line was well into the high 20 thousand price range. At the time, I did not yet own a President. If I were to get a yellow gold watch, I wanted it to be a Rolex as the yellow gold Rolex President is the most iconic watch in the world to the average guy. I was also told that if you get a white gold bracelet, it scratches waaaaayyyy too easily, and I am not a careful man. So.....
The Nautilus also has a metal bracelet, and is also a very dressy looking watch. But it's very conservative in appearance, whereas the stainless bracelet on the Aquanaut is, well, bolder. The Aquanaut also comes with a clear back. It looked better to me than the Nautilus. I've had it a year or so and I just love the light weight, the look, and the eye-catching beauty of it. It's also a really, really acurate timepiece. The only thing I dislike is the short power reserve (46 hours). And, yea, it's a sport watch, but.....really, it's just a Patek. Sport got nothin' to do with Patek, as you know. Hope that answered your question. |
