Might have found my 1st Rolex :)

Hi all.

I've been looking for my first Rolex which my lovely wife has said she will get me for my 30th later in the year.
It's going to be a preowned watch due to funds and lifestyle.

Here is a short list ive found but im sure i'll add more, any feedback is more than welcome:-

Thanks Johnny

This is the 3rd choice:-

The A-K appears twice - does that mean you like it twice as much as the DJ?

Either one are great first Rolexes - I would suggest trying the A-K on your wrist because they wear "smaller" in some people's eyes after they get one from an on-line seller.

The 114200 is a solid choice

The DJ if it was me, as 77T/PaulG said above, Air King is small.

Have you tried on an AK? They're relatively small compared to other Rolex models.

Very Nice Rolex's. I'd probly go with 35mm or larger. Which ever one you choose I think you will enjoy your first.

I'm a big airking fan as I had a few of them when I got into rolex so I would go airking plus I like no date watches better.

The Air King is pretty badass - to echo everyone else's contributions, assuming you have a normal sized wrist, 34mm may be on the small side for you. However, personally I'd stick with the Air King - clean look and the Oyster > Jubilee IMHO. Either way, there's really no 'wrong' choice - enjoy!

I agree. Plus the connection to the RAF and the Battle of Britain. Lineage second to none

On a model like the AK, my AD would probably get you within a couple of hundred pounds of watchfinders price, for a brand new watch. P.M. me if you want their details.

Just based upon looks and functionality alone, my choice is the DJ.

Could anyone tell me the true value of these watches please? So when I make an offer I know I've got a good deal.
Thanks Johnny

A Rolex oyster cased watch wears bigger than its specs.

The prices you sent are retail so try some haggling and see where it gets you

They said that they are open to offers, so hope to get a good deal. That's after I've picked the one I like. Lol.

Yeah, it's not about the best deal but about finding the watch for you.

Like the AK bigtime....but really don't like that price for a used one. Going price on that model in my neighborhood is around the equivalent of 1700 GBP

I know what you mean but I haven't seen any 2012 AK models for under £2k

Well it's not necessarily a "2012 model"..It was just bought by someone last year. It may have been made a few years ago for all we know from the advert. FWIW, I just walked by that model about an hour ago on my way home at the price I just mentioned above. If buying that one I'd try to get them to bring down that price quite a bit.

The DJ is my personal favorite. Not a fan of the Oyster band, since the Jubilee screams Rolex =]
